It was the best food that we had in Costa Rica! We only stayed one night but it would have been great to spend two for the food. Really appreciated that Joel embraces sustainable tourism and environmental awareness.

We loved our stay at the Lodge. The architecture is in perfect harmony with the environment. The owners, Joel and Selma, are courteous and helpful. And the food is outstanding! In fact, we drove down from the Rio Celeste Hideaway back to the Lodge to enjoy another dinner with Selma and Joel. Well worth the trip over a rough road.... More

We went for 4 nights at the Celeste Mountain Lodge on March 2013 and the experience was amazing. Meals were incredible, fusion Tico-French. The owners Joel and his wife Selma made us feel like home, from early morning until the night their passion for what they do overwhelmed us, ambiance and facilities are simple but truly amazing. Excellent for families... More

We went for 2 nights at the Celeste Mountain Lodge on Feb.25-26 and the experience was absolutely devine. The location (magnificient views!), the rooms (ask for the corner rooms 9 or 18, it's totally worth it), the sustainable tourism's philosophy, the ecological & environmental respect of the nature, the delicious meals and of course, the great service of the owner... We stayed one night, going to Tenorio Park. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms are clean, without luxury. Some more comfortable chairs would have been appreciated. The meals, included, were very good and more typical of Costa Rica than usual touristic restaurants. We feeled welcome and received useful information from the owner. Not far from Tenorio Park... I stayed with a few friends this past week at Celeste Mountain Lodge. Our primary focus was to visit the Riu Celeste. However, that was overshadowed by the ambiance and welcome that we received at the Celeste Mountain lodge. The owners of the lodge (Joel and Selma) are an engaging couple who pour their passion for natural beauty and the... More

We spent two nights at the Celeste Mountain Lodge and really enjoyed it. The food is exceptional, very creative, one of the best restaurant in the country. The rooms are spacious but the noise insulation is not the best, I could hear our neighbour snoring most of the night. The staff is well trained and very pleasant, very good service... More

We liked the uniqueness of this hotel. The road itself was an experience and the owners helped us arrange transportation to the park entrance. Our tour bus refused to take us there, we couldn't understand why until we saw how bad the road was. The cost of a cab is $50 as they have to come from town and drive... More

Thank you for your comments. We agree and readers can see lately various comments on our access road which also leads to the National Park. We have been after the local authorities for over 6 months! However GOOD NEWS to future visitors, as of yesterday Feb. 16, machinery has started to fix it. We should have a decent access from... More

European flavor in the middle of nowhere! We (10 of us) were traveling in a large van, and I agree, the road to the place is among the worst I've traveled on in my world travels. That said, once you get there, the owners are inviting and cordial and the food is fantastic! I would describe it as "Costa-Rican-French fusion."... More
