Had the privilege of staying in the bell tent, which was even more than I could have ever wished for. Waking up and unzipping the "front door" with its view on the Alps is absolutely stunning and the best start to your day ever. At night it can sometimes get a little chilly, but it's comfortable under the warm blankets in the fresh Alpine air. Also want grasp the opportunity to thank Melvin (and his family) again, they run the chalet with a very sympathetic spirit and can tell you all you need to know about the surrounding environment. Will return there!

The chalet is homely and the owners welcoming; it is like staying in someone's home rather than accommodation. The people who stay there are easygoing and friendly, and everyone says they never want to leave afterwards!

This was my first time staying here on a friend’s recommendation and it was the best advice of our trip. Merlin was wonderful and we met so many travelers and made new friends. The beds were comfortable and the view was breathtaking. Highly recommend it for a friendly hostel experience at a reasonable price!

This is truly a family run chalet, it is well located within walking distance from Gryon station. Lovely chalet with spacious rooms, beautiful terraces and balconies to enjoy the views, well equipped kitchen where you can cook your own meals, and very warm and friendly family who run it. It's a place to relax, share, feel at home.

Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Gryon. Stayed for 4 nights and will be back again. Brilliant hosts who take the time for all their guests. Beautiful location and great facilities. Easy to get to the train station to go visit bigger towns and close to great mountain walks. Grest views from the bedroom windows.

We stayed here overnight and wished we stayed for another day. The steep walk from the train station is worth it. A restored chalet with very clean and comfortable bedroom and beautifully renovated bathroom. The old creeking stairs is a part of its beauty. Magnificent and relaxing views in the dining room and patio. A well stocked kitchen with different spices and condiments in case you forget to bring them. Some pasta and soup mix from from previous backpackers are available in case you didn’t bring enough food. Perfect for travelers/hikers. I’m sure you will love this place.

I stumbled across this Chalet through an online review and we were not disappointed. Booking was really simple via the website and Merlin was super helpful when we needed to add an extra night to the booking. As “older” travellers we were a bit worried about staying in a hostel but it was truly fantastic. Everyone was super friendly, and the atmosphere is really relaxed. We stayed in the private double with private bathroom across the hall. Lovely spacious room with a balcony and an amazing view. The bathroom was also spacious and an abundant supply of hot water for long soaks in the bath after skiing. We had a hired a car and drove from Geneva airport which is 1.5 hours away but the chalet is also near a tram stop. Everything was really accessible. The first day we skied from Barbalouse (a short drive) with ample parking and a great bakery and the second day from Villars (10 – 15 minute drive) again with a great bakery right next to the cable car. Merlin is a great host and a real ambassador for Chalet Martin. It was lovely to hear Willow and Winter and their happy little voices around the place too. The kitchen is really well equipped – loads of cooking space, fridges, freezers, coffee makers and even slow cookers! Gryon is really lovely and there’s a new bar and restaurant in town Café des Alpes which was fantastic. We found everyone in the area to be super friendly and helpful. Our only wish was that we had had tea and coffee making facilities in our room for that early morning cuppa! We hope to return one summer and sample more of what Gryon has to offer.

We loved our time at chalet martin. The owners and staff are so hospitable, the chalet is homely and the atmosphere is unreal. We highly recommend chalet martin as a place to stay. Its so close to the ski slopes and they offer onsite ski gear hire at a great rate. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay - fantastic!

We all know that Switzerland is an expensive place to visit so Chalet Martin stands out not just for its friendliness and relaxed atmosphere but also for its sheer value for money. I stayed in their private double with private bathroom across the hall. Lots of space, cute balcony and bath as well as shower. Near tram stop so easy to get to other places. If you’re very active there’s loads for you to do. I’m not but found that I could easily get around to other places Glacier, lake, thermal baths, nearby towns and villages) and time just chilling.

Stayed in the Bell tent for one of the most beautiful settings right at our door step! I have been traveling the world for 10 months now and this hostel is up there with the best! From Merlin, Gemma and their sweet family to the amenities and cleniness, everything was amazing. Thanks guys, can't wait to come back in Winter!
