I Love Sol and the Island of Santa Maria. I have been there many times in the past years, and have witnessed many changes under the various Managers. It is apparent every time I return that the resort is aging, like all of us. There are things I would like to see improved, at the same time there have been... More

Weather: First week of May had perfect weather. VERY warm, low 30's all week, fairly humid, mostly clear skies, was only windy one day and a pleasant breeze the other days. By the time we started noticing mosquitoes they were "smoked". Must be a weekly thing. Bars: Bartenders had a variety of yummy drinks. Every bar has lime and Piña... More

I really enjoyed our trip to Sol Cayo Sant Maria, it is a beautiful spot, wonderful people, so kind and helpful. I am handicapped and the whole resort was accessible to me on my scooter. The food was OK, there was lots of it and very well presented, you certainly would never go hungry. The resort was looking a little... More

My BFF and I traveled to Sol Cayo in May of 2011. This resort is huge and very spread out. We were lucky because our room was smack in the middle of the pool and the beach. The pizzeria is the BEST but it's only open during lunch hour....I think from 12-2 or something like that. The pool bar as... More

Hi, We really enjoyed our stay there from 30 mar to 09 apr 2012. Good food, a bit repetitive. Verry good service. Fantastic beach. Hotel in need of some maintenance, remember it is over 10 years old, nothing terrible. Bed matress hard, I could feel the springs. There is a naturist section on the beach, but there could be more... To begin I would like to state that i have traveled to Cuba 10 times prior to my review. I have stayed in several areas and several resorts abroad. My fiance and I have traveled to Sol Cayo Santa Maria 3 time in the past 16 months. We went to holguin in January and wished we were in Sol. We... More

It was a nice trip, the hotel is average...it`s old, i think that it's the 1st one build on the island, and you can see that everywhere. It need a renovation, everything is old! The big plus is the beach, it's the best! The food was also very good, i didn't had any problems! Grosso modo it's ok for a... More

I visited this hotel in June 2011 and it was the worst experience ever! I beg if you are considering going here or any other of the hotels on the same island DO NOT GO HERE. Every hotel is owned by the same company and the amount of people complaining of food poisoning from where birds just fly into the... More

We are new to the all-inclusive hotel concept. From our three-day stay here, we concluded that all-inclusives are not the kind of place where we'd like to spend more than about four days - and the fact that this one is located so far out on a limb - just drive for 35km out into the sea and stop when... Before anyone sends me hate mail, lets start by saying I have been to this resort before, have traveled to cuba 5 times and elsewhere in the Carribean. I NEVER complain but this trip left me beyond Cranky. The regulars who have been there from the get go. Yetsy, Vivian and Etna are fab and some newbies Frank & Boris... More
