For what we paid (just £37.50 for two people each night) this hotel was a little gem. Some of the decor is dated but is made up for in the friendliness of staff and locals a like. Enjoyed a really nice meal at The Newcastle Hotel one Thursday evening. The restaurant at the back is warm, comfortable and very friendly. Staff are all really friendly and genuinely lovely and ensure you get the best experience possible. Food is great value and home cooked and fresh. I'd definitely recommend for a quick local bite.

Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Room was lovely & clean & cosy. The staff are nice and friendly. A bargain break in lovely quaint village of Rothbury. Will definately return to stay here again.

We only ate at the hotel. But was heavenly. The fresh fish, red snapper one night+ sword fish the other, were wonderful. If in the area you must give it a whirl. The staff were so friendly. Overall a delight.

Dropped in for something to eat while wandering around Rothbury on Sunday - restaurant didn't look that busy but they apparently had a lot of bookings already.
