I made a booking via their website a few weeks prior to our stay here in April 2012 with my husband and in-laws. It's located right next to the Takaka I-sight (visitor information centre) and within easy walking distance to the supermarket, local shops, cafes/restaurants and village theatre. Our ground floor 2-bedroom unit had a Queen bed in one room... More

I recently stayed at Mohua Motels with my family, we all enjoyed the very comfortable, clean and quiet rooms. The staff and owners were delightfully helpful and friendly. The motels have a beautiful rural outlook while being just a short stroll to supermarket, shops and a great range of cafes and bars. I will definately be recommending Mohua Motels to... More

After a long drive over the Takaka Hill and checking out what to do in the town and surrounding areas at the I site, we walked next door to this motel and were greeted by very friendly staff and management. The owners of this motel are born and bred in the town and are more than happy to give you... More

We had our third stay at Mohua Motels earlier this month, and again enjoyed it very much. We've stayed in studio rooms before, and this time with an added family member tried a two bedroom. There are two of the two bedroom units, with very different layouts - we looked at both, and chose the one with a king bed... More

Being just a few minutes walk from the centre of Takaka means there is plenty of peace and quiet at this new motel but easy access to the local restaurants and shops. The owners are welcoming and very helpful, guiding visitors to the better places to eat and the local attractions. The rooms are very well equipped, clean and comfortable. More

Really enjoyed our stay at this motel, where the service was superb & the property in excellent condition. We commented it felt as if we were the first people to stay here (which we weren't, but we think is always a good sign). More

We stayed here for 2 nights, and enjoyed it very much. We had a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and a room with 2 separate sleeping areas. Everything was clean and fresh and the owners were kind and helpful. It is within walking distance of the supermarket, so it was easy to make a home cooked meal, which is a... More

We spent three comfortable nights here and enjoyed the pleasant outlook across fields to the township. The welcoming owners offered advice about the region, things to do and see etc. Being almost next door to the Information Centre and literally only two minutes form the main street and supermarket the location is convenient but also quiet. The the wireless broadband... More

Spent 3 very comfortable nights at the Mohua motels in Takaka. On our arrival we were given a warm welcome by the helpful owner who gave us lots of advice on what we could see and do. The room itself was a good size, had good cooking facilities plus free broadband access. The golden bay i-site is next door and... More

We stayed at this lovely motel for 3 nights over a short holiday in Golden Bay. When we arrived the friendly owner of the Motel booked us in, explained everything and suggested attractions, beaches and other nice places to go. We even got a small bottle of milk for free so we did not have to go to the supermarket... More
