Lovely little resort with a really good photography setup and wonderful dive guides. Service is so friendly and helpful, and the food was always great. Would certainly recommend to groups of friends wanting to experience some amazing wildlife!

Loved the 2:1 dive guide ratio! Our guide, Joni, was absolutely amazing and pointed out all sorts of cool creatures that we've never seen and would have missed otherwise. You see something new on almost every dive: frogfish, octopuses, cuttlefish, squid, eels, nudibranchs, seahorses, and on and on. It was my first time diving with an underwater camera and Joni was helpful, patient and gave me some pointers. Lots of serious photographers here but I didn't feel out of place with a TG-6, which was great for most of the life. Took the GoPro for videos as well, for dives that ended in coral gardens. I recommend trying at least one blackwater dive since it's a unique experience, though I preferred the regular night dives. The service was top notch and exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price. Food was excellent and they spoiled us as vegetarians at both lunch and dinner. We splurged a bit for the cabin/forest rooms and I'm glad we did. While the beach rooms are very nice as well, the forest rooms provide a bit more privacy. We met several people who are "regulars" here and we can understand why. We'll likely be going back too in a few years. Highly recommended.

My wife and I spent two weeks at NAD Lembeh in November. We were returning after a gap of just over 4 years due to COVID. The resort is as amazing as it was before COVID, with even some improvements. See our previous review from four years ago which is below, with the addition of a pool table in the bar. The fact that there is a maximum of 2 guests per guide is great, and watching the guides co-operate underwater so that they find things as well as ensuring each guest gets to see the subjects they would like or the photo they are after is very much appreciated. The attention to detail at NAD is amazing, you can tell is was run for many years by the owners who used to live on site. The resort caters for photographers and the camera room is fantastic. Each diver has their own space with plenty of charging points, no need to bother bringing travel adapters, we could charge using UK plugs, USB, European plugs (didn't check on US plugs). They even sell a reasonable colllection of camera arms, floats etc. which when you consider you're in a remote corner of Indonesia is impressive. There are seperate rinse tanks for cameras as well as compressed air to dry off your camera. There is even a computer to look at your photos on bigger monitor if your laptop screen is not big enough. The dive guides have their own computer so that they can work on their own photos, which means the guides are also accomplished photographers. This comes in handy when they're helping you get a better shot. As for the resort itself there is small but pleasant pool (and jacuzzi). The sun loungers are very comfortable. There is a well stocked bar and the food is brilliant. The rooms are comfortable with huge beds. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided, as well as mosquito repellant (a nice touch). Room towels are plentiful - bath, hand and flannels. Sam, Berty and Yoda run the resort brilliantly; they ensure everything runs effortlessly making sure nothing is lacking. The diving experience is fantastic - fruit and drinks on the boat at all times and yummy cake for the morning dive interval. The boats are well equipped, with toilets and plently of sun/shade. Cameras are well looked after, and the boat crew are wonderfully attentive and helpful. Boat towels are provided and changed every couple of days. Would we go back? Well we've already booked!!

I have used many dive resorts around the world and NAD ranks one of the highest. The resort is compact, but as a diver you do not want anything big. The rooms are good and the cleaning service was great. The food was buffet style and the quality & selection was impressive. If you are into photography you will be more than happy with the camera room, with personal workstations to prepare and maintain your camera equipment. The diving service is superb with really great boats and crews and the dive guides (one guide to two divers max) were very attentive, vigorously searching for the special critters that you are desperate to see and being just excited as your are when they find them. An all round great place to get the maximum out of you diving vacation.

This was our 3rd trip to Lembeh but our first to NAD. We will certainly return here for trip 4. The dive operation is first class. Guaranteed guides at a 2:1 ratio, really fantastic guides who are great spotters but also attuned to the needs of u/w photographers. We had Erika who was fantastic and it was great to see a local female guide. The dive boat was the most comfortable I have ever been on, so well laid out and easy to roll off and climb back in. The boat crew was friendly and helpful ready to assist at any moment - big shout out to Rio. Best camera room ever! We had a beach front room that was a good size (huge bed) clean, solid, nice hot shower, everything you need. The food was lovely, buffet style with loads of choice and always fresh and delicious. There is a nice bar area to relax and watch the sun go down. All in all just a fantastic friendly well run resort. If you are not diving there is not a lot to do but that is the only reservation I would have.

Situated in a beautiful quiet bay on Lembeh island, this resort is the ideal base for serious macro photographers. All the dive guides are top class spotters and trained in u/w photography themselves, so they know exactly how to help you. They are very experienced and know where to find plenty of interesting and rare marine life. There is a very well equipped camera room. The dive boats are spacious and have good facilities. The accommodation and meals are also of a very high standard indeed. Value for money is excellent. Various diving packages are offered with optional add-ons including blackwater dives. Nitrox is available and optional 15L tanks to make the most of your dives! Sam Robertshaw, the manager and the owners Simon and Zee Buxton are masters of macro u/w photography and happy to share their knowledge.

We have just returned from a trip to Nad on the isle of Lembeh. Having been diving in many places around the world this has been the best. We met Zee and Simon at this years dive show and saw what their resort had to offer the underwater critters were unbelievable, Dive guides were excellent with a two to one ratio they were able to find critters we have not even heard of, they were very helpfully in showing how to take photos as we were only using a Go pro. The boat crew were very helpfully getting us in out out the water. Most of the dive sites were within 10 minutes from the resort. The camera room was set up for 20 divers with charging points and all the camera gear was safe and could be left over night. Food was very good and as much as you wanted. Follow them on Facebook to see the critters. It is a very helpfully diving resort, nothing was to much trouble and we are already looking to return in 2025 Thank you David and Jackie

Second visit to NAD. The resort is perfectly set up for divers and underwater photographers. The camera room is one of the best 26 + booths for 15 rooms, plus more table areas so even a large photo workshop would be well catered for. Extension leads etc are all there for you - although take your own if you have saved on weight by taking USB charging cables . The owners and manager are photographers so they have thought of everything - I’ve no doubt that if you’ve forgotten something they’d magic it up. Dive guides are mainly long standing employees and fabulous critter spotters. Nothing is more than a few steps away but once you’ve left your dive gear with your guide and set up your camera for the next day it all gets dive for you so head straight to the boat. Can recommend the bungalows - plenty of room to spread things around. For those with mobility issues the standard rooms are on the same level as the restaurant, bar and camera room so ideal. The bar is a welcome addition and a lovely spot to watch the sunset. Meals are family style and either buffet or a la carte depending on occupancy. Highly recommend for solos, couples and groups.

The resort is designed specifically for divers, and in particular underwater photography. The resort is intimate and convenient--family run, not too many guests at any time, plenty of well appointed camera stations with all of the charging ports you would need, and easy to get quickly from room to food to camera room to boat, etc. The diving is mostly muck diving, with some exceptional reefs. Both are excellent. The dive masters are highly knowledgeable and experienced and there are only two divers per dive master. The boats and hotel operations are well run. The food is excellent. The people are delightful, professional, experienced and fun to be around. We got to meet Simon and Zee, owners of the resort, and they are exceptional people. The manager of the resort, Sam, is outstanding! My husband had special dietary needs, and they went way out of their way to accommodate his requests for no spicy food. We have been to MANY other resorts, and this is by far the best we've ever been to. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who loves muck diving and underwater photography! It is truly the best!
