We recently spent three nights at Rimba and had a great time. The lodge offers basic accommodation including hot water and air con for those who want to pay a little more. Staff are friendly. The food was ok but the food is not the reason to stay at Rimba. The wildlife is the reason. We saw wild and semi-wild... More

I stayed at the Rimba Lodge in Feb. of 2013. I was part of a group that was learning about animal communication. The lodge provided a great place from which to explore the jungle. The rooms are ample size, clean, with fans, a/c and netting. The bathrooms and showers were effective. The meals served in the main dining area were... More

Let me start out by saying that the staff were very nice and helpful, and the three stars does not reflect my experience with services at the hotel. The hotel was quite basic, but I prefer this in the middle of the jungle, and did appreciate its eco-friendly credentials. Camp Leakey and the surrounding area is amazing, and you get... More

We stayed for 3 nights recently, spending two nights in the lodge and one night on the boat. From arriving at the airport to checking back in at Plaganan Bun the service provided by our guide was outstanding. Nothing was touch much trouble, non-stop commentary on the wildlife, tweaking the itinerary to what we wanted to do the most, providing... More

The food is nothing special, the accommodation rustic and staff somewhat relaxed so why is this place simply brilliant? To put things into perspective you are in the middle of nowhere. A two hour kelotoc ride up the Sekonyer River this place is incredible considering the remoteness and beauty of the surroundings. As many have already stated this is not... More

This is not a luxury hotel - but so what. The fact that this place exists, in the middle of the jungles of Borneo, where you can take a hot shower, find a flush toilet, and sleep in an air conditioned room is a miracle. Yes, the bathrooms are rustic, the rooms are not terribly clean, and the furnishings are... More

My daughter and I stayed here in August 2012. We found it to be very comfortable, with good food and friendly staff. Our guide Desy was excellent - knowledgable and helpful. We wanted to see a little house on the bank of the river and Desy arranged that with the owner. We were treated to an unusual encounter with a... More

I stayed at the lodge in July 2012. Our two tour guides desi and hakim were so knowledgable. I would personally like to thank hakim for all his effort, knowledge, patience, sense of humor and help. The stay at the lodge was unbelievable comfortable in the middle of a rainforest it is truly remarkable the delicious food the staff were... More

We both thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in a Diamond Room at the Rimba Lodge. The room was fairly new and furnished as one might expect a jungle lodge to be. It was quite spacious and comfortable with good air con and mosquito netting over the bed. The shower/bathroom was rustic but fine - new fittings etc. open shower... More

We stayed here for 3 nights as a centre to visit camp Leakey and the various orang utan centres. Having travelled by boat to the hotel it transpired that some people had opted to stay onboard for accommodation, we wish we had chosen this option but did not know about it when booking. We appreciate that it is an Eco... More
