Was at Tenggol Island Beach Resort for 2 nights on 4 Sept (Sun) to 6 Sept (Tues) and my review as follows: 1) Booking We got to know this resort through facebook and contacted 013-2139999 for our bookings. Booking is done via whatsapp and thru bank transfer to MDDivers Sdn Bhd bank account. We can verify that this number and bank account is legit because we did not face any problems or issues during our stay at this resort. 2) Departure from Jetty A'King Dungun They share the same jetty entrance with another resort which is Tenggol Coral Resort. So do look up for the signboard of Tenggol Board at the Jetty entrance. Car Park is available at RM10 per night. Parking is open air and guarded and safe. Quite a lot of parking bays available. 3) Boat Transfer to Tenggol Island The boat transfer is using a semi covered boat which is in acceptable condition. Most importanly, the boat is clean and felt safe. Journey is approximately 40 minutes. Boatman and crew are very friendly. They even assisted us in carrying all our luggage. We felt very welcomed. 4) Resort First Impression and Check In The boat will park directly in front of the resort upon arrival. Do expect to get down in the water (but only up to ankle level). So, please do not wear shoes. Resort does look nice and well maintained. Our check in was handled by Monique - everything was handled very fast and proper by Monique. Rooms are available for us to check in immediately upon arrival. Two thumbs up. 5) New Superior Room 106, 108 and 111 We booked the new superior room and were very happy with our choices. The room size is good for 2 to 3 person and everything in the room looks new, reasonably maintained and value for money. Most importanly, the air conditioning in the room and water heather works well throughout our stay. There is also no electricity break or resting period - it is available 24/7. Two thumbs up. I have nothing to complaint about their new superior room. Very nice. 6) All Inclusive Package We took the full board package which is inclusive of all meals. Overall, the meals provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner are considered good for the price it charges. Tea time is also provided at around 330pm to 4pm and it is usually a type of freshly made local kuih (it was curry puff and a local kuih during our stay). Hot water, hot drinks and bread are available 24/7 at the resort coffee house. Most importanly, the resort water does not have any salty taste. Also, there is hardly any flies at the coffee house which means that the resort cleanliness is good. Overall, i can rate the meals at this resort as good for the price we paid. 7) Wifi/Internet/Mobile Coverage All mobile networks such as maxis, digi and even celcom have a very weak and inconsistent network and 4G at this island. From time to time, we are able to load our whatsapp massages but it is not all the time available. Our advice is just purchase the satelite wifi with Monique/reception at RM30 for 2GB or RM75 for 5GB. Their satelite wifi connection speed is consistent and good even from our rooms. Two thumbs up. 8) Sandlfy During our stay, we do spotted some sandflies near the beach area. As long as we spray insect repellant with DEET, we are safe from sandflies. So, please bring along insect repellant with DEET. Dont buy those natural without DEET repellant. 9) Beach Condition As expected in any Terengganu Island, the sea water is crystal clear. The resort has its own beach front sandy area too which is good for leisure walk or swim. Wave is almost non-existence too during our stay. It does look like a big swimming pool. On a sunny day with blue skies, the view is very beautiful as you can see the bottom of the sea. Two thumbs up. 10) Snorkelling Trip We went to two snorkelling trip using the resort boat - as this is included in our package. All i can say is the snorkelling trips are worth it. Very beautiful marine life especially those near to the rocks. It is slightly different from what we are usually used to in Redang or Perhentian. Two thumbs up. The non-existence wave also made snorkelling experience very good in tenggol. Overall: This resort is more quiet and peaceful than Tenggol Coral. If you want some peace and relaxation, do pick this resort. Quality is as expected from a 3 star resort. Most importanly, the new superior room is good. Overall, it was a very value for money holiday for us with this resort.…

I went there for 5 days and 4 nights. I went there to learn diving and I've got my PADI Open Water Diving and Advanced Open Water certification. There were a lot of good things about this resort. 1) The people are very friendly 2) The teachers that teach diving are excellent 3) The food is great 4) The island is very calm and quiet 5) There was a lot of marine life that you could see there. There were blacktip reef sharks, turtles, triggerfish, nudibranch, groupers, clownfish, needlefish and a giant school of fusilier(I saw most during my dive). You can also see coral reefs that are quite close(maybe around 15meters out? not that sure) from the beach 6) There was no shortage of equipment(not sure why the some people's review said that) 7) There are life jackets and the boats are just fine(as some people mentioned they are bad on this page) 8) The room was quite clean as well…

Went there with my family for 5D4N, they have indonesian cooks which serves amazing food daily, resort is decent and clean, the people there were amazing and super friendly! Often times people visit the island to take their diving course and IMO their snorkelling is EQUALLY as good. As someone who visits different islands every 2 years, we had so many encounters with new aquatic animals on the island and we loved it. We also had the chance to let go of turtles as they are also a hatchery but this depends on the season when you’re there. Definitely look for Robin if you’re looking to snorkel/dive at interesting spots, he not only brings you there but really watches out for your safety as well. Do also look for Bel as she is always willing to help with whatever queries you have on the island. Everyone else in the resort were also very accommodating and very fun people to hang around with. Recommended 10/10!!…

Pre-organised and paid for a private charter snorkeling day trip to tenngol island for our friends and family (total of 12 people). For RM2000! We arrived at the Jetty on time - no boat or captain to be seen. Finally the boat arrived - a single engine tiny fishing boat that would at best sit four people. There were no life jackets for any of the passengers including our 6 children. Please think twice about using Jennifer, Adrian and the Tenngol island resort. Extremely dangerous, unprofessional and disappointing.

Positives: - Staff are helpful and friendly. - Food! Buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner with unlimited coffee, tea and bread in between. - Can buy snacks (ice cream, drinks etc) from the bar area. - Towels are provided. - Suitable place for those on a diving trip. Would not recommend this place for those who are not going diving/snorkeling or who have young children as there isn’t much to do. Negatives: - Shower still uses the old school gas heater so you either get super hot water or freezing cold water (with the heater off) to shower with. - Quad room had a huge gap when we locked the sliding door leading to the balcony area so mosquitos were coming in. - Quad room needs more hanger/towel rails inside the room. Not sufficient for a 4 man room. - No complimentary WiFi. Maxis signal is non existent. Celcom and Digi have signal only in the dining area. TIPS: - Wear repellant when going to the beach. The entire beach has sandflys!! - Bring your own toiletries - none are provided by the resort.…

Traveled in mid-July for 3 nights. Resort was overbooked and overcapacity. Not enough bays in the dive area to store your gear. its a constant battle to find a spot to park your tank and setup your equipment before and after each and every dive. Tanks also in short supply where you'd have to wait at filling station for a fresh tank. Tanks marked for nitrox were filled with regular air. Rental equipment poorly maintained. Each and every piece of rental gear experience failure, from power inflator getting stuck resulting in uncontrolled ascent from 15m, to BCD leak so unable to stay buoyant on surface, to leaking hoses& spg and octopus that would not breathe. nothing worked. To compound matters, gear returned as defective (leak on Octopus hose) was not repaired or put aside, but instead offered back to diver the next day when asking to change a leaking SPG. No safety equipment sighted, No oxygen, no first-aid kit on boat, no radio on boat (cellphone reception is very limited). Ingress and Egress for shore dives share the same path as boats as both sides of path are littered with dead staghorns. Rooms were pretty to look at but basic and badly thought out. No wash area in front of room (closest about 10' away, depending on room), so expect sandy floors. Shower hardware was loose from wall, i secured it with ziptie for duration of my stay. Bidet leaking. Each room equipped with gas powered hot water heater so hot water not an issue. Airconds also sufficiently cold. No social distancing practiced. No registration for contact tracing. No disinfection on high-traffic areas and touch points. No disinfection of dive equipment/regs. Meals were the only saving grace. Every meal was always something to look forward to. Quality and variety was never lacking. Also, our dive boat capsized the morning we were leaving because allegedly it was tied wrong the night before. Great potential. Just felt like a moneygrab to make up for lost opportunities during MCO at the expense of diver safety and comfort.…

Second time here. First time was at March 2019. There are no new rooms back then. Stayed in the newly constructed rooms for this trip, it's fantastic. Clean and practical layout, can fit up to 3 person. Food wise, it's still very delicious. Won't be disappointed anytime. Bread, tea and coffee are available 24 hours. The main activity here, scuba diving, is one of the best. Plenty of dive site around and nearby the island, you won't run out of site to dive. You need to carry your own gear on and off the boat though, unlike the resort next door. But as a diver, you should be able to do so all by yourself. So, no issue. Overall, this could be the place I will come every year.

Came here for diving with a group of 10 of us. First onto the good stuffs - The food was awesome, the new rooms were good and the kitchen people were helpful. That's about all. Now onto the long list of poor stuffs :- Not practicing any RMCO SOP (no temperature was taken). No social distancing of course. Dive equipment malfunction is a daily occurrence here. From BCD leak, to Regulator leak, to 2nd stage not functioning and even our dive guide's tank was leaking where he had to share air with fellow diver when underwater. We literally had issues/problem for every dive we went. These guys took in too many divers at one go (overloaded their maximum capacity). They don't have enough space, equipments ready for their divers. We had to gear up and wait for more than an hour for those rented equipments for our group's diver. Oh and we got to wait for boat to come back too as there weren't enough boats too. Did I mention, the boat we were on for 2 days also capsized on the 3rd day (not sure of the reason) but just the thought of it was scary. Thank god we were prepared to leave the resort on the 3rd day. Overall, our entire group felt like this place's management couldn't care less about the safety of the divers. Almost felt like they just get us to sign indemnity form and their job is done. The fact that they oversold more than they could cater for tells you the irresponsible attitude they have towards their visitors. All out to just make money. This is not the first time it had happen and will not be the last. Felt like they are just taking advantage of the people desperate for a holiday after being confined at home for too long. Anyways, we will never head back to this resort ever again unless they have changed of management or improve on their services and their care for divers. One of the worst-off dive centre /resort of all time. If you care about you and your buddies’ safety, avoid this place at all cost.…

First time travel to tenggol. The environment is quite nice n comfortable. No line at here. Only celcom but sometime celcom is weak too. Is the best time for us to relax and say no to our phone. Dive site is quite nice too. Many coral there.... we manage to play drift dive.... is fun. Haha.... Food is good! But sometime will have not enough food to serve all. Unlimited bread and tea for self-service. Everything is good.... but sandflies are not that good. Becareful of it.

Tenggol island offers a clear water diving and snorkelling. We stayed overnight at Dungun in order to catch the 9am boat trip to TIBR. Parking at the jetty was RM30 for two days. Boat ride was half an hour. My family enjoyed their 5 dives. Unfortunately the sandy beach has a lot of sandflies which left pretty bad very itchy bites on my limbs and exposed part of my body.!!! Thus a word of caution - DO NOT PLAY ON THE SANDY BEACH. It's either in the water or away from the beach. It is not a good place to sunbathe and to read a book by the sea. My advice is to prevent the children from getting bitten at all cost!! The rooms are clean. but there seems to be no hot shower from the LPG type heaters. The food provided is ample and great. Lastly, there is no free wifi provided. And iphone reception is poorly on the island except for CELcom. Enjoyable if one were to limit one's expectation.…
