We had chosen this lodge as it was quite some distance from Manaus, looking for a more remote experience. The first disappointment was to see that the gate for the property was located right on the road, not in some remote spot as we had imagined. It was also located over 1 hour's drive from the river for the excursions.... More

We made bad experiences at the Amazonat Jungle Lodge. As the owner lives far away, the place seems to be run by the employees without any control. So the food happens to be old and poor quality. And what is most dangerous, the excursions are run without professional guides, so there is no safety equipment at all. We were almost... More

Let me tell you, I have read the bad comments on this lodge, and I have to totally disagree with everything. Some of them, obviously, completely disregard the fact that you are in the Amazons. It's like going to a lodge in Africa and complain because the Elephants make too much noise in the morning. I went there this June... More

Location: I don't mind the location, as some other reviews mentioned. 2 and half hour drive from manaus, next to a bunch of farms. The road is bumpy and full of holes because of government neglect, good thing I dont get car sick. Facilities: I get the feeling the facilities have seen better days. At one point it must have... We were travelling with my 14 year old daughter and had been looking forward to a stunning encounter with nature in a pristine rain forest. Our expectations were clearly far too high. The lodge is not in the middle of the rainforest - it is situated on 2 hours down the main road from Manaus, you can here the traffic... More

A real highlight of my extensive travels in Brazil! This lodge enjoys a prime location equidistance from both Rio Negro and the Amazon, uniquely offering tours on both. The lodge plays an important role within the community and its surroundings in terms of conservation, education and promoting eco-tourism. The primary and secondary forest on site is home to a wealth... More

I went to this lodge to spend a few days in December with two friends and my father after an Amazon and Rio Negro 8 days cruise. The place is rundown & definitely lacking management. I overheard (talking to the staff and locals) that the owner was left by his wife some years ago and I guessed at the time... More

What an amazing place. Out of a dream. Our guide Rico was just amazing. Without him it would have not been the same. He told us so much about the amazon and its inhabitants. The lodge was heaven. You need to go and experience for yourself! More

My friend and I have just got back from a fantastic stay at the Amazonat Jungle Lodge. The booking process went very smoothly with direct and immediate email communication from the owner Jacques. Our flight arrived very early morning in Manaus and so we decided to stay at a hotel in Manaus so that we could rest before collection at... More
