WELCOME We are the staff of “The Old House” of the Boutique Hotel Hacienda Ucazanaztacua; wish you a warm welcome. We; Julio, Rafa, Chayo and Bertha; are from the beautiful fishing village called Ukasanastakua, located on the shore of lake Patzcuaro, and are proud to be indigenous Purepechas.Ucazanaztacua is located 10 minutes from the village of Tzintzuntzan, the center of purepecha culture for centuries, and five minutes from Ihuatzio. In this area one can encounter archeological sites, churches and convents, whose architecture dates back to the 16th, century. In front of the hacienda is the island of Pacanda, inhabited by purepecha families. The hacienda is located in the heart of purepecha culture where you can hear Pirekuas (traditional music); and taste the prehispanic cuisine and see the beautiful hand crafts.Patzcuaro; a beautiful colonial city with churches, museums, and 16th century architecture; is a scenic 20 minutes drive.
