Upon reading reviews, we chose to stay here for our trip to Provence. We prefer small villages and from that perspective, this hotel completely fit the bill. I would have given the hotel a higher mark had the check in process not been so frustrating and not put a pall on our visit. We can surmise that the hotel overbooked,... More

Our last stop on an Inntravel walking holiday and a very welcoming one at the end of a very hot day's walk with a lovely pool and sunloungers on which to recoup. The dinner was also excellent with efficient service and some reasonably priced wines . The bedroom and bathroom were fine but the standard sized bed felt rather small... More

in a medieval setting. In fact, the hotel is a junction of different houses and gardens; The restaurant is superb, but expensive. So try out also the restaurant Amphytrion, just around the corner. Creative and delightsome! The breakfast in the hotel is sparing and flat .Buy a croissant and eat it in the typical French bistro.

We stayed here while on a bike tour through Provence. The town sits up on a hill, with the hotel in the middle of the little town. The pool sits on one edge of the hill, built around an old wall. It's a unique and gorgeous effect. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our room looked out onto the central... More

This hotel is one of my favourites. It is part of the Relais et Chateux collection, so is one of the more pricey hotels, but boy do you get a treat. We booked a couple of days before our arrival, directly with the hotel. They were so helpful, directions and any assistance we needed were handled with attention to detail... More

We just returned from a packaged walking tour which included two nights in this hotel. I expected to add my glowing comments to similar Tripadvisor reviews. I was surprised to see the negative ones listed below: our experience, on the contrary, was excellent. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is overseen... More

We stayed recently at this hotel and although the room and bathroom were quite nice with good facilities, there was only a small window which looked out onto the wall of the house opposite, so no view at all. Car parking was difficult as the hotel is right in the town centre and the hotel car park is quite a... More

We enjoyed our stay in Castillon du Gard at the Le Vieux Castillon. This hotel was part of a packaged tour and we didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprise. We had our own terrace and the rooms are large with a lot of charm. I would not recommend the room we stayed in to people who might... More

We were given a warm welcome by the reception staff when we arrived after walking from Collias via the Pont du Gard. Our rooms were clean and warm, on a cold day, and our experience in the restaurant was excellent. The Michelin star permeates all the atmosphere and the choice of food and excellent wine list reflected this. Our only... More

We were looking for a 4 star hotel with charm in the Nimes/ Uzes area and found the "vieux Castillon" online. We booked a double bedroom and a Junior suite. The cleaning lady had forgotten a dirty cleaning cloth on a chair and there was a full ashtray on our window. The rooms were ok. Not great though for a... More
