Location: remote, idyllically located, Beaches: white sand beach in approx. 15min walking distance - looks like in a tourist photo book; black sand beach: when we got there after 10min walking it was too dirty for us. Cleanliness: Kubu Pilatus Inn is very clean, garden very well maintained Pool: small, deep, well maintained, nice spot for chilling out Rooms: air-conditioned, simple with nice furniture Service: you can ask Putu for transportation, he can pick you up / drop you off at any place in Bali for an absolutely reasonable price...   "Stayed with Putu en route to the Gili Islands and we made a fine choice. Putu picked us up from the airport and we got to know him on the drive to Padang Bai. He took us to the money changer with the best rate in town and to a nice restaurant overlooking the beach - he even offered to pick us up whe..."n we had finished but we actually wanted to walk home after a long flight from the UK. Putu's place is a little oasis and a real labour of love. Very relaxing and quiet. We walked to the beaches nearby, drank tea in the garden and had a good, restful night's sleep before leaving the next morning for the Gili Islands. As a previous reviewer said this is like the old Bali before mass tourism and all the better for that. A genuine guy putting his heart and soul into what he does. Why not 5 stars? Breakfast could be improved a little and for some the location could prove tricky at the top of a steep hill. Would recommend strongly though and would definitely stay again. " More >
