As pointed out in other reviews this hotel is on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, but it was just a short taxi journey into town so shouldn't cause anyone too many problems. The hotel ..."itself was very clean and well presented, and the place had a very pleasant 'ambience' about it. The staff were very welcoming and professional also. The room we were booked into was a good size, very modern and nicely furnished, complete with en-suite shower room containing handwash/shampoo, etc. Breakfast was served until 10.30 a.m. which was very useful, meaning that there was no great rush to get to the restaurant before 9 a.m.- which is the case in most other hotels/b&b's. There was several options available at the buffet breakfast, and the hot option of sausage, scrambled eggs, and beans was fine- despite other reviewers grumbling about it!   "We stayed here for one night to celebrate a special birthday, after visiting it once to eat at lunchtime - we were so impressed that we decided to stay when we could, hence this trip. The hotel/pub is as described and as per the photos on Tripadvisor. reception is in the bar, which was easy and ..."quick. The rooms are by a separate outside door, then up flights of fairly steep stairs. we were in room 10, an attic room. This was beautifully furnished, solid new furniture, large flat TV, views over the bowling green and river plus a superb bathroom with excellent shower cubicle. Plentiful supplies of tea and coffee and two comfy tub chairs made for a good sitting area. We had a drink in the bar, a good variety of wines and 3 real ales on tap. The bar is pleasant and bright. We ate in the restaurant. The menu was very pleasant and the food better than described. Our minute steaks and sauce came quickly, lovingly presented with a tasty salad.
