  "Firstly, this place is NOT in Beaune; it's in a picturesque village (one of France's Beau plus) called Chateauneuf en Auxois (or Chateauneuf 21 on your GPS) which is about 20 minutes north west of Beaune. If you pay less than five star rates then you can realistically expect less than five star but you may get other things as a bonus. Firstly the pros; the room, we had the downstairs one, was comfortably spacious with a tiled floor. It was en suite and the hot water was hot. The bed was made each day, something that didn't always happen at other places we stayed. It had a wardrobe and a dressing table, something I found handy for my laptop. There's a heater in the room but I believe it wasn't working properly and when we complained it was turned up two degrees to 24 but we were still cold at night and every time we checked it , other than... Our decision to go was very last minute so we could only stay at La Terre (or at"Jean-Louis" as we like to call it) 2 of our 4 days in Beaune because they were full. This is our second visit, so we were VERY excited. Upon arrival we were kindly welcomed by Clemence - who is new since our 2012 visit. She showed us to our room and explained it was Vincent's room as a child (we stayed in the room across the hall last year). Shortly after we had a big greeting from Jean-Louis and felt right at home! He is always willing to help with cave recommendations, restaurant recs, and anything else you might need.
