  "For my grandmothers 90th Birthday, my cousins and I decided to organise trips to places my grandmother had never been too. Crete was top her list, so me and one of my cousins decided to take her there. We chose Elounda Mare because of the fab reviews on tripadvisor and because it is Relais and Chate..."aux, which we usually love. My grandmother is Belgian and food and comfort is very important! The hotel is really stunning, family owned, mature gardens, lovely big rooms and antique's and Cretan artifacts all over the place. The views are to die for too. The hotel is on the sea font and has its own private beach. We also had some treatments at the Six Senses Spa which was a real treat. We had a connecting suite with a private pool in the main building of the hotel. The pool was huge and warm and the room very tastefully decorated. High above the town of Elounda you’re presented with a brilliant view of Spinalonga and the ocean beyond. It’s very easy to stay just sitting by the pool, eating Vangelis’ food and enjoying poolside drinks instead of going exploring. If you need a few days in the sun and just want to totally chill out – this is the place to do it. The only warning is said hill.   "We didn't know what to expect as we have never been to Crete. The view from our nice size balcony was stunning. Food was very good and the all inclusive bar was excellent. We were sorry to leave as it was just perfect for us. Only thing we could see might be a problem was the steepness of the site ."
