Whales are abundant this time of year, turtles are everywhere , sharks are a dim..."e a dozen too, so if you do go for a spot of fishing expect the locals to be on the hunt as well. If you are into fishing or even a place to go to get away from "life" for a while then this place is hard to beat . The accomodation is spacious and clean and now boasts a general store that caters basic supplies. If cooking is not your thing then the restaurant turns out some very moorish treats.   "Took the hour long boat trip out to Thevenard Island from Onslow, were promptly shown around the resort, and then dropped off to our ocean-view cabin. The aircon was already humming away, complimentary bottle of wine was a nice surprise, cabin very neat & well kitted out with all linens, full kitch..."en and big fridge/freezer, outdoor setting under shade sail & Weber Q on the verandah just waiting for all those fish we were about to catch! Within half an hour were had firmly planted ourselves, beer in hand overlooking the ocean where we stayed for majority of our 3 night stay, except to walk around to the back beach where we saw hundreds of mating turtles, rays and reef sharks. The temperature of the water was divine for swimming and the water so clear & blue. We also had a dip in the below-ground pool near the restaurant which was great. Went for a fish off the jetty, catching a feed, and had dinner in the restaurant one night too. Dinner was very "dorm style" so certainly not somewh... " More >
