  "I stayed here for three nights with my partner. Our room was big and comfortable. Our room faced the street, so during the day it was a little noisy as it's on a main street, but it's a good location and easy to get everywhere. The breakfast was excellent, really good choice of bread, olives, ..."cheese, and a few things I'd never seen before. Van is famous for its breakfasts so that lived up to expectations. Staff were polite and friendly but didn't really pay much attention to us, this seems more like a business hotel, there were many single men staying there. The bedroom was very hot but this is normal in Turkey, and as the weather was so cold outside, this was appreciated. The bathroom tended to flood after showering and there weren't enough power points - the power point in the bathroom was taped up, not very useful. However, we paid a good price - the equivalent of less than £50 a night for two of us per night, including breakfast. The Akdamar isn't anything special... " More >

  "This new hotel is beautiful and has a good location. We were welcomed with delicious Turkish Delights. There is a fitness center, warm indoor swimming pool and Turkish Bath available. There is free Internet access. The staff is helpful but only a few speak English. The rooms were large, clean and pl..."easant. There was plenty of hot water. My room had a view of Van Castle. The complimentary breakfast had wonderful choices and were identified in English. I felt rushed at dinner but the meal was very good. In the elevators it was hard to read the floors, as it was very dim. Some in our group had difficulty regulating the temperature in the rooms. My stay was very enjoyable and I would recommend the Elite World Van. " More >
