  "I was in Johor for the viva of a master student, and UTM put me in this resort. I was there just for one night, unfortunately, since it is really nice! I had dinner in the Chinese restaurant on the resort grounds, very nice. The only thing I did not like was so many Chinese people shouting outside t..."he room. They had piped in music outside the rooms, but when I called them that it is too loud, they immediately reduced the volume. I think I am the only one anyway who ever heard the music inside the room, for I live without aircon and fan - which worked perfectly in the great big beautiful room where I was staying, with a nice balcony.   "I had originally booked to stay at the Citrus, only to found out it's a budget hotel (advertised as mid range). I am glad I switched to the Puteri Pacific after the first night. I had a very early check in and was upgraded to a family room. The staff at the Puteri Pacific are incredibly warm and e..."ager to please (Malaysian hospitality). I had access to a gym and pool, which were very important for me (none at the Citrus). The property itself is a bit dated, but rooms are large. Be sure to ask for a non-smoking room, as people still smoke like chimneys in this part of the world. I had breakfast every morning at the Puteri Cafe, and the spread is very good. They put out both local and Western selections (although no fresh juice or skim milk). The location can't be beat - 5 mins walk to City Square (large mall) and the train station (JB Central). Overall I would recommend this hotel for an additional USD $12-15 over the Citrus. " More >
