  "We have hesitated a lot before selecting asalem, but we did not regret it. The location is great overlooking the bay of abrao while you feel isolated. The view from the restaurant is great and quite relaxing. This is a small pousada, so you dont fell like you are in a hotel. We stayed in the new ec..."o suite at the upper level, and it was just fantastIc, probably the best view from a room that you can have in ilha grande. The room is big with a large balcony, large bed and fitted with modern equipment. It is expensive, but if you have to choose, I would rather recommend to reduce your stay and enjoy this suite than selecting the standard rooms. The people in charge are very nice especially paula who was very friendly and helpful (the owner is not working here, managing the pousada from new york which can make things difficult if you have an issue to deal with....).   "After looking through many reviews, we selected an ocean view room at Ancoradouro as we fancied being on the beach. After a hectic few weeks it was lovely to arrive to a big, clean room with a view over the harbour at sunset. (Note the town beach itself isn't that nice, more of a harbour, Lopes Mend..."es/adventurio beaches much nicer!) The breakfast was good and the linen/towels were good quality. We couldn't get the wifi to work but that wasn't a major issue. The pousada is near two good restaurants and only 5-10 mins from the main jetty/town centre.   "Decided to stay here after being in hostels during the rest of my trip in Brazil as I wanted a bit more luxury. My room had a double bed as well as a single and nice clean bathroom. Towels were fresh and changed if you needed them to be. Room contained a fridge as well which was good for drinks and ..."snacks. All the rooms are different due to the style of the house and there are lots of outdoor relaxing areas with wooden furniture and hammocks. The Pousada is about 5 minutes walk from the middle of town with a backdrop of greenery. Perfect as away from the busier areas. The breakfast is great - pineapple, melon, watermelon, mango, break, rolls, cheese, ham, jam, honey, cereal, iced buns, cake, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and freshly squeezed orange juice.
