I have to say that I was a litt..."le concerned as there was a common theme of poor food and rooms, but we were after all, going for diving, not a resort stay. There was a major security issue in Eastern Sabah involving the Malaysian military taking action against a large group of insurgents (terrorists) a few weeks before we due to depart. The Australian Government issued a Do Not Travel alert to the area and specifically Semporna and the dive islands and we thought our trip was up in smoke. Serena was instrumental in keeping us well informed on an almost weekly basis via links to the Sabah Tourist Board website and other sources.   "I went there with my brother for a 6 days 5 nights stay including 2 days diving in Sipadan. The rig met our expectation as we were here to dive more than playing the tourists. I read a lot of bad reviews and it was fun how stupid and untrue they are. If ever you want to enjoy a 5 stars hotel servic..."e, don't come you won't fit in. The rig is quite ok (perhaps needs to be painted anew though) and the food was good. The staff was very friendly and we spent good moment chatting in the afternoon. The good thing about the rig is that you can dive around it anytime. Also it is isolated enough to help you focus on the only reason that made you come which is diving. Thanks to the staff : fauziah, najeeb and the house keeping guys. Also a big thanks to the instructors : suki, Craig, beneditta, jacky, taufik etc.....   "Simply Amazing"
  "This place has to be seen to be believed. The beutiful pictures online barely do it justice. The resort sits on top of some impressive coral formations and a variety of marine life (including countless sea turtles) can be seen from the resort's raised walkways. The rooms are spacious, comfortable...", and private but also have amazing views of the sea and the coral. This place is really geared towards divers and there aren't a ton of activities for those not putting in three dives a day, but it is a stunning location and a great place to relax. The only imperfection is the buffet style meals were only ok. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't exciting either. Also, bring your own alcohol as choices at the resort's bar are limited and expensive. I guess you can't have it all. " More >
