We sat on the back deck in the wooden chairs placed there so perfectly and watched the ravens and eagles play in the updrafts from the side of the cliff. We walked on the Spit, threw rocks in the ocean, watched the gulls and eagles clean up the beaches. Dogs ran along the waters edge, lovers strolled hand in hand, kids checked tidal pools, the wind ruffled my hair and washed away our cares. We slept hard and renewed our commitments to each other.
