"My son and I spent two nights here while exploring the nearby Mojave National Preserve. Having read all the reviews on this site before booking the room, our expectations were very low, but we booked it anyway because there were no real alternatives, since the other two motels in Baker -- one of wh..."ich (Bun Boy) has now apparently gone out of business --looked a lot worse.
We were prepared to rough it, and we were pleasantly surprised. No, it ain't the Ritz, or even Motel 6, and the furnishings were a bit shabby, but our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and convenient for exploring the Mojave, if a bit overpriced for the value. The Mad Greek Diner right next door had decent, cheap food for breakfast and dinner, even if its "decor" was way over-the-top kitschy.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone on an expedition similar to ours.

"After reading so many negative reviews for this motel I was almost afraid to stay. BUT, it is the only motel in town and reasonabley close to Death Valley. All I can say is the room is probably the cleanest room I've stayed in ever! The furnishings are very, very worn however the things that really..." count in my book such as clean bed & bathroom, soft towels & linens, etc.; this one is great. We had only planned to stay one night but was so satisfied, we stayed two! The room is very spacious and motel also has an outdoor pool that is very nice and clean. The price was very reasonable and the motel is pet friendly as well. The owner/ operator was so friendly and easy to work with. Although it is not the prettiest, I think it's a jewel in the desert. I count it among my favorite stays for the money.

"We stop at Baker in the afternoon. We paid for a two queensize bed 80 $ which is a bit pricy. Clerk was friendly. Wifi included. Pool cold. Ok for a stop over to drive into Mojave Desert Room 17 is far away from street. Fridge and Microwave included"
