  "There are many options for lodging in and around Hwange National Park, but frankly, this is the best. For our 15th wedding anniversary, we spent 3 glorious days and nights in tent (ha, unlike any 'tent' you've ever known) 10 which also had an outside clawfooted tub to soak in (which we gladly did!)...". The Hide is situated right off of an ancient riverbed-turned-savannah strip that runs through the northeast corner of the park - the "tents" and main lodge are safari-luxurious - all opening up to a pumped waterhole. In spite of being told by friends in Harare that this was not a great time of year to view game (the 'green season', the animals don't have to come out to watering holes, so often don't), we saw quite a lot, including a gorgeous cheetah on the initial drive into the park from Main Camp. Even guests from New Caledonia in the South Pacific were present... Camp Hwange fame has spread!! The game drives were unique in that whatever one sees whether large or small, the excitement is engendered through excellent guiding knowledge and the ability to bring the bush to life.   "We cannot express enough how incredible this camp is. Julian and Ash were fantastic hosts and all the staff were just faultless. From before sunrise to well after sunset we enjoyed every moment. We loved the welcome we received at all times as well as the attention to detail. Ash and Julian were always on hand to welcome us back from a drive or to our meals which left us feeling looked after as well as relaxed and in good company. It was an amazing start to our honeymoon and the cherry on the cake was when we mentioned on the first night in passing that we loved the good old fashioned sadza and meat (which we don't have as often living in Australia now) and Ash not only remembered but surprised us with a gorgeous meal that included sadza and meat on our last night!
