"As first time patrons at a B&B, we were unsure of what to expect. We arrived for a short mid-week trip, and were met with an accomodating hostess, a beautiful and private room, and delicious breakfasts. We could not stop discussing how the accomodations truly exceeded our expectations.
We stayed i..."n the Carriage House room, which is detached from the main house. It was large and very comfortable, stocked with the necessities for a cozy getaway. A full oven and fridge, teas and coffee, candles, a gas fireplace, etc. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean.
Breakfast and coffee were delicious and Maxine was a lovely and informative hostess. Would definitely return!!

"My wife and I recently spent the evening at Sugar Loaf for the first time and we can't wait to return. A short drive from the city, secluded but not isolated, Sugar Loaf consists of two charming buildings in the Township of Chester: the main residence with a kitchen, common area, and one of the gue..."st rooms (which we saw, as well), and the rear carriage house which we stayed in.
The carriage house was incredibly charming. Skylights everywhere, even in the shower, a large room with a gas fireplace, comfortable bed, and kitchenette. A large picture window overlooks the wooded backyard.
Maxine is a delight. Terrific breakfast of French toast, a gracious and thoughtful innkeeper.
We look foward to returning in the summertime and would highly recommend Sugar Loaf to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

"My husband and I just returned from staying at the Sugar Loaf B&B in the Carriage House Suite. As much as I would love to keep this wonderful place our little secret, I cannot stop raving about this romantic getaway that is nothing short of magical. Both the main house and Carriage House are beaut..."iful beyond words. A definite step back in time. The Carriage House Suite is truly a secret hideaway and was the perfect setting for celebrating our 20th anniversary. But the true magic that tied the whole wonderful experience together was the exceptional hostess named Maxine. She is a lovely and warm woman who just also happens to make the most delicious breakfasts. Thank you, Maxine, for opening up your home to us. We can't wait to come back!
