We live in Mexico so we know what to expect and accept - but when you travel back in time like you do in Alamos - and find a gem like this - you need to tell people. Very large room (there's only 3 - we had #3 - at least 20 ft x 20 ft, with 14 ft high beaut..."iful black wood beam-red clay tile ceilings (my own house has 12 ft high tile ceilings and a 16 ft high dome), the bathroom was maybe 8 ft x 12 ft - king sized bed very comfortable , hey - this is almost as good as my house. The courtyard is stunning in the morning sun (we were there May 4-5) - yes Sunlight as the name says. Very accommodating, friendly staff ( we checked in at 2 pm). Nice feeling everything. On the sidewalk out front - somebody signed March 24, 1913 - just over 100 years ago. One heck of a deal at 800 pesos - maybe US$65. " More >

  "I have stayed at Hacienda De Los Santos on two occasions, once in 2006 and once in 2010. If anything, the hotel was better the second time. It is my favorite hide away not only in Mexico but in the world. If there were no cars on the cobblestone streets, you would think you were transported back ..."a century.
