  "This "resort" does not have a pool or hot tub or restaurant on site, however it is close to everything. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfotable. There is a kitchen with a full size refridgerator. The Island manor is a short walk to beaches, town, restaurants and bars. The manager is very ..."nice and can help you plan your trips or tell you where to take hikes etc. Keep in mind that this is not a luxury hotel.   "This was our first trip to Block Island and I think we lucked out by staying at the Avonlea. It has a great location - a few minutes from the ferry and right on the beach. Very accessible but also private with a terrific view. Our room had a great cross breeze and even though it was in the back of..." the house, it still had an ocean view window which was nice. Breakfast was coffee, fruit, and muffins which were all very good. They had wine for us at night before heading out for dinner. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The only negative was that the bar nearby was a little loud at night but that did not last long. Overall it was an excellent experience and I would recommend it to family and friends. " More >
