  "I spent 3 great nights at the Eco Hostel Hawaii. All people there (owners, workers and guests were really nice people with positive energy). It is really and Ecological place, where you can sleep in their tent (with a really nice folding mattress) in the middle of the forest, no lights, just stars a..."nd insect noises like crickets and cicadas. There is wireless internet in the common area where the restroom and the shower are (awesome hot shower!) and the kitchen. When I was there, the kitchen was still temporary but they are building a common area with a really nice kitchen and are starting to grow their own food. The owners will organize tours so you get to know all the good spots in the Hilo area, including the active volcano crater, walking on dried lava to get to see flowing lava during a spectacular sunset by the ocean, Tai ponds, warm ponds, snorkeling spots, lava trees, and more!
