Think of them as songbirds with really bad voices. They woke me up the first night, but you learn to tune them out. They are part of the charm of the island and I actually missed them on Oahu. But back to the basics. The hosts were friendly, the beds were comfy, the food was excellent. I have stayed at many B&B's on the mainland and in Europe.   "We stayed in the Nani Loa room, that had a US queen (UK king bed). There were screens on the window plus ceiling fan, this kept the room cool so no need for air con. The bathroom and room were clean. Every second day the bathroom towels were changed and rubbish collected. There was free wifi in the ..."room. There was a full kitchen and a selection of breakfast items were provided on arrival. I would suggest to improve this is that items are replenished each day. We queried this and were advised that there were shops near by where we could buy more things. We stayed three nights which totalled $493. The least that you would expect is breakfast to be refreshed each day, not be told to buy yourself. We would suggest bringing ear plugs as it was noisy at night due to the local dogs barking a lot and various cars coming and going (ear plugs were provided in the room but didn't stay in our ears).   "My parents stayed in the Pueo Suite, and my friend and I stayed in the Milo Suite during our visit at the Kauai Banyan Inn. This was a perfect combo of rooms, because the Pueo Suite had a kitchenette with a stove, etc, while the Milo Suite had a hot plate and smaller kitchenette. Both rooms were w..."onderful!! We enjoyed breakfast/coffee every morning out on the large balcony of the Pueo Suite. Beautiful view, and the birds are lovely!! We stayed in Kapaa the first week of our vacation, and then stayed at the Banyan Inn the last 3 nights. KBI is wonderful for many reasons, especially because it is off the beaten path, and there is not nearly as much traffic in Lawai. Yet you are still close to lovely beaches and sights to see. As mentioned in previous reviews, Lorna is a wonderful hostess!! She is so welcoming and kind, and has so much knowledge about the island.
