There trees everywhere as one would expect but also lovely views of surrounding hills / mountains and sky. Word of advice: bring bug spray to ward off evening mosquitoes. Staff was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food: they do a very nice breakfast with eggs, frittatas, French toast juice, decent strong coffee, cereals, and fresh fruit. For everything else food-wise, you will need to make sure to bring your own as the nearest town is about 20 minutes away.   "Had a motor lodge room. It was early season, so pretty quiet. Room was very clean, no odors, which is always a pleasant relief when staying somewhere where there are few choices. Person running the place was very friendly and helpful, as was Cocoa, a very sweet dog. Campsites are right by a cree..."k and Grayback and Oregon CAves are a short drive down the road--both pretty stunning places in and of themselves. Wifi and cable tv. No coffeemaker in the room, and it was too early season for the ice cream parlor/snack bar to be open, but the manager offered to make me coffee in the morning. Cave junction is about a 15 min. drive away with lots of coffee shops, so no worries. Don't expect a "chain-type" accommodation, do expect a comfortable nights sleep in clean, country setting for a great value. " More >

  "The Oregon Caves Chateau is one of the most peaceful, beautiful, hidden gems in Oregon. We checked in last week (on opening day) and the staff were absolutely fantastic. We got an economy room, and it exceeded our expectations...while it was very basic, it had all we needed, the view was still fan..."tastic, and we had the sound of the waterfall as background noise. The food is quite good - the dining room is expensive, but you get huge servings. The Cafe is wonderful...so atmospheric...obviously, anything that has to get brought up the mountain is going to be more expensive, so I didn’t have an issue with the prices. The building itself is gorgeous and very tasteful/low-key compared to the other National Park Lodges. Yay to no phones, no cell reception and no TV…everyone should spend a few days disconnected…really!
