Breakfast menu had a good choice and the food was good. We did not try the evening food but if it was to the quality of the breakfast I would imagine it was nice ? Would defiantly stay again ! Reading previous reviews it seems that the hotel has taken them in to account as redecoration is taking place and also help with our bags was offered by a very nice lady on reception !   "My partner and I stayed here for a weekend. I hadn't visited Matlock Bath before so didn't know what to expect. What a beautiful little place and I have to say the hotel was pleasant and added to my experience in Matlock Bath. We arrived by train and walked through Holme Road rather than along ..."the main front. It was a steep climb but worth the picturesque scenery. We spotted the hotel from the top of the hill which stood grand. We arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a polite lady who offered to take our bags but we were only on the first floor so there was no need. The lady still personally showed us to our room. On route to our room you can see the refurbishment taking place but this wasn't an issue as the owner Chris had emailed well in advance to explain this. Our room was clean and the bathroom quite large. Once the hotel is refurbished it could potentially become #1 hotel in Matlock Bath. The bed was comfy and we ended up sleeping in everyday.
