Geraldine was a very kind & helpful host who had great recommendations for not only things to do in the area, but also a memorable dinner at the Trim Castle Hotel. Our room was very spacious & had great old character. Town was a short walk away & there were beautiful walking trails along the river across the street. Breakfast was very good as we ate in their elegant dining room. This was a great final day stay on our 11 night trip to Ireland & we would highly recommend staying with Geraldine at the Highfield House! " More >

  "We could not have a picked a better beginning to our Ireland vacation. Landed in Dublin and opted to start our driving experience away from the busy city. Drove to Trim and visited the awe inspiring Trim Castle prior to checking in at Highfield House, where we were greeted by Geraldine with scones a..."nd tea to revive us after a long travel day. From the tastefully decorated en suite rooms, to the views of the castle from the Inn, we set out on foot across the river towards the ruins and to Regans (oldest pub) with real Irish flavor not to mention a good pour of Guinness! Spent time walking about Trim before retiring to our rooms only to find an impressive Irish breakfast as we headed out. Though the full Irish breakfast was enjoyed by the men, the freshly made brown bread, scones and generous, gourmet cheese plate will have this B & B on my list of places that I must return to and will recommend to all friends and family visiting Ireland!
