To begin, the facility is located in the small town of Lages,(and not the listed mailing address at Praia da Vitoria). It's o..."nly 2km north of the commercial air terminal at Lages. It is above a supermarket, and consists of four bedrooms, which share 2 bathrooms, a living room and dining area. A kitchen is available for use. The owner and his wife operate the supermarket on the ground floor. The rooms were clean and well maintained, bed was comfortable, and the TV received four Portuguese channels and Armed Forces Network. Breakfasts were provided, and consisted of rolls/bread; coffee/tea, a large assortment of fruits and portions of meat. Parking was directly across the street. It was not the hotel's fault at all, but hotels.com incorrectly advertised all the rooms. I asked at reception about this and even though they did not have a contract with hotels.com and t..."herefore no control over the advertising, they upgraded us to the junior suite so we could use the kitchenette. Seeing the difference between the double room and junior suite, it is absolutely worth the price to stay in the junior suite! The staff was all incredibly nice and spoke great English. The breakfast spread was incredible. The tv had cable with maybe 50 or 60 channels. I just can't say enough good things about this hotel. I chose to visit terceira island based on the reviews for this hotel and could not have been happier with my overall stay in the Azores! Absolutely recommend renting a car as well. Loved everything about the island, even the cows that would cause occasional traffic... " More >
