Not quite warm enough to eat on the balcony, but the food was outstanding - not fussy, but well-chosen, beautifully cooked and inventive (Pigeon stuffed with Foie Gras and fig was outstanding!).   "traveling by car from Spain to U.K. and aiming for Bordeux for our first night and then we were tired and it was getting late and the thought of getting lost in a big city didnt thrill so I got out my trusty phone went on to trip advisor, this hotel came up with good reviews and I actually thought w..."e were going to the actual cheese region, (which this is not), so we did a detour and found this delightful restored building as we found out later by Marco and his partner. As said earlier we were late arriving but Marco made us very welcome and showed as to a very nice room, I felt like I had stepped back in time and although its different its been restored with love and obviously a lot of work has been done, its just so quaint. Marco told us that he had a large party booked for the next day so everything was being prepared for this but if we were hungry he could make us a nice menu of homemade pate, fresh bread and then chicken with mushrooms followed by a cheese board. this is quite an o...   "It was the best hotel we had in our trip, beautiful building, room, garden ... difficult to get something similar anywhere. I like small "special" hotels and this is definitely a spezial hotel Monica from Madrid, leaving in Lisbon"
