Proximity of South Melbourne Markets makes self catering a delight. Rooms were spacious, beds large and comfortable and bathrooms well appointed. However the carpets could do with a good shampoo. I wore my socks around for a couple of hours one night and they were almost black. Views from our 6th floor apartment were limited, but we didn't spend too much time there anyway. A special mention about the small bottleshop/coffee shop located in the basement of the building - the guy who runs it is very helpful and seems to know his stuff. I love to walk, and having Albert Park across the street was wonderful. South Melbourne Markets are an easy walk as well, as is the Albert Park shopping precinct. Clarendon Street has a myriad of dining options as well as shopping and banking. There is a lovely restaurant about a block away called Lomano's, and the dining options in the Albert Park shopping precint are also excellent (I have dined at Ricardo's and Andrew's Hamburgers). There is tram service across the street which will take you to the CBD or St Kilda. I am a light sleeper, and so brought ear plugs with me. I would otherwise have found it noisy with lots of traf...   "We spent 4 nights in Melbourne over ANZAC day for the footy with our 2 boys, (6+8). The apartment was very well furnished with plenty of room. All the conveniences one could ask for such as dishwashers, hairdryers, washing machines etc. The kids loved having Foxtel to watch and the free WiFi worke..."d well for us also. Very quiet rooms with excellent beds meant good sleeps were had by all. Having the tram stop across the road made travel into the city, which we did every day, a breeze with the kids. Excellent shopping only a short walk or1 minute drive away on Clarendon Road. We made good use of the swimming centre acros the road and spent leisure time around Albert park a the weather was perfect for the outdoors. On ANZAC day I walked up to the Shrine for the dawn service, this only took 20 mins.We will definitely be staying here again. " More >
