If you want a western meal, Rosso Rosso offers excellent steaks and the salad is also worth a mention! Near to some good bars (e.g. Fridge Bar). Recommend booking in advance.

Presentation of food was beautiful - we took photos! The steak was delicious and buttery They were very accomodating of my 12 year old. Recommend the asparagus in filo with cheese Seving sizes were just right allowing you to try a few things Decor very stark. Then we visited the onsen right next door!
As the name suggests, this is a place for steaks. I opted for an appetizer of asparagus spring rolls and a Hokkaido sirloin steak, which arrived, as all the steaks do, on a hot plate. There was a thick iron disc about 2 inches in diametre resting on the side of the hot plate, the purpose of which we couldn't...

This restaurant opens only in winter. The service is centered to steakes and they provide various kinds of beef including high class Kobe beef. My recommendation is Hokkaido beef which is very teasty and with reasonable cost. The chocolate cake for desert is very bitter-tasty one like those in France.(not like Americans!)
I was highly impressed with the quality of the food at Rosso Rosso. The Hokkaido fillet is amazing and the bacon wrapped scallops = delicious. Very friendly staff and very cozy location. Will be back next time in town for sure!
Another great meal from Tsutsumi san and his team. You can't go past the set menu with Hokkaido beef and bacon wrapped scallops and unlike others in the village his prices haven't increased. If you want something special this is a great choice and easy to book on line.
For the third year in a row we have really enjoyed our night out at Rosso Rosso. We were really looking forward to the amazing bacon wrapped scallops as part of the set steak menu. They did not disappoint - big plump and tasty. We took friends with us and we all had set steak menu which is really good...

Fresh and delicious food, friendly service and good wine. Everything was great - steak, fish, veggies! May try to squeeze in a second visit on this trip.
You can't go past the steak at Steak Rosso Rosso in the Hirafu village.
I've personally had my last 5 birthdays there, and will continue to do so as the host and staff make you feel so welcome as soon as you step through the door.
I recommend the bacon wrapped scallops and the Hokkaido beef fillet but that's just...

Small cosy Japanese steakhouse. Missus had the tasty Hokkaido fillet while I had the Wagyu fillet. The Hokkaido beef was good but the Wagyu was something else. Order the beef one level below what u normally you like as they have a small stone for you to cook it further. Wash everything down with a beautiful bottle of wine and...
