SEE FULL REVIEW AND PICTURES AT http://www.restaurantcritic.eu/the-reviews/italy/le-calandre Overall rating: 7.5-8/10 Le Calandre holds three Michelin stars and was first stop on my restaurant tour in northern Italy, and Osteria Francescana was the only one I liked a little bit better. The interior of Le Calandre matched the food quite well: Simple and elegant without being extravagant. There were several menus... More

The food was far from extraordinary. A 6 course meal with a sufficiency of moderately priced wine that we selected ourselves plus tip was 333 Euros per person. Although we asked 4 times for the air conditioning to be on, the response to each of the gentlemen who asked, was to take off their jackets. The men felt this casual... More

Maybe some time ago, when Le Cafandre was just awarded with its 3-star Michelin rank, it was a fantastic restaurant. I think so because I used to trust Andy Hayler (www.andyhayler.com) who has given it a 10 out of 10 ranking. However now it’s a purely commercial project aimed more at economical parameters and getting money out of its famous... More

Notwithstanding my review title, there were many fascinating aspects to the superb menu. The chef has worked hard on creating these dishes and his book tells the story. The Chocolate game at the end is a delightfully playful finish and certainly does not overwhelm the experience. Great wine list too and the owner-family is fantastic.

The food was exceptional From the amuse bouche right through to desert: Amazing! Everything at this restaurant is fantastic, from the furnishings and the friendly knowledgeable staff, to the fantastic food. One of the larger selection of wines I have seen! Hoping to go back soon and to visit their depence (ristorante quardi, in San Mark's Square, Venice)

I've been fortunate enough to eat in many of the Michelin Starred restaurants and for me this Is one of The best ! We had the tasting menu " Ingredienti " and there wasn't one course which we could fault. Service was very good . The relaxed atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening . Congratulations for Le Calandre Team !

We took the "I grandi classici de le Calandre", paired with the wine: the food was excellent, the combination of spices and flavours was really perfect. Particularly the scampi su crema di fave (or something similar, couldn't find now the dish on the website) and the cappuccino di seppie al nero were super delicious. The wines offered with the pairing... More

Very modernistic place, recently redecorated and immediately appealing to the younger generations, yet most of the guests that evening were 50-80. We took the less extravagant, more traditional menu, and it was excellent. Even though not shockingly innovative compared to their famous In.gredienti menu, each dish expressed pure sensations, the approach even halfway to simplistic. 18 on a 1 to... More

I was at Le Calandre this Saturday June 16th, 2012. What a fun experience, from the charming service, their playful ideas, the cool moderne decor. Really liked it. Here's my photo & tect review of that meal: http://tinyurl.com/c2s4o7y

We stopped by Rubano to give ourselves a treat at Le Calandre while on our way to Venice (from Milan). Heard that the restaurant has gone through a facelift last year and that was evident with the minimalist design. We picked the tasting menu (Euro 185) in order to sample different variety of dishes. They started us off with a... More
