For us the best location in Paternoster - Just make sure you get one of the tables outside, right on the beach. Food is very good, fresh fish perfectly cooked. Service was very friendly and we had a great time.

It was all in the attentive service, detailed presentation, finest quality, and tantalising flavors! If you after a dining experience on the West Coast, this one is must not be missed!
Gaaitjie is an absolutely charming restaurant, quite unlike anywhere else we have ever eaten. It's a beautiful old fisherman's cottage and the restaurant spreads across several rooms and the terrace. Everything we ate was fantastic. We would make a special trip to eat here on our next visit to South Africa. Outstanding experience in every way.
We had dinner at this restaurant. Tables are quite close together. The view over the sea from where we were sitting was lovely. The angelfish started was interesting and had nice flavours. The kingklip with roast vegetables as a main meal I found somewhat oily and clawing. Not the best I have had. We were also rushed through our meal....

unusual restaurant....food superb...would highly recommend and whilst we found in general staff in restaurant in South Africa to be very friendly...this restaurant's staff were superb...such good humour...definitely a must

This was a highlight of our stay. If you give Gaaitjie a miss whilst you are in Paternoster you are doing yourself a major culinary disservice. The gracious ladies of Gaaitjie made us feel right at home. They were professional and attentive. The food was simply outstanding. The chef has taken local fare and presented it in a sumptuous and...

Had a nice evening at Gaaitjie'S.
Sitting outside on the balcony was nice although our favourite table was allegedly booked, but nobody showed up (can always happen...).

The crayfish, or lobster is simply fantastic. In a simple environment, a very well trained staff offer you many options, all of them tasty
We had a very relaxed lunch with a table of friends on the balcony overlooking the sea. Everyone was happy with their choices - and there were some very fussy diners with us. Most of the table ate fish dishes - well prepared and presented and a nice range of wines to go with them. Lovely hand-cut chips! Service was...
