My wife and I were taken here by a close Japanese friend ... as other review have noted, you have a nice view of the Tokyo Tower - realizing as least for me this tower isn't quite as noteworthy as the one in Paris. That being said, we loved the Japanese gardens surrounding the large, sprawling restaurant. From what my... More

This restaurant is a small oasis in the middle of the buzz of Tokyo. You enter the beautiful garden and peace and harmony settles over you. Tofu-based food may sound a little dull, but not here! The variations and combinations make this one of the best meals I have had in Japan during 20 years of regular visits. Go here... More

Loved it as soon as I saw it. Set within this very traditional Japanese garden right under the Tokyo Tower. As an avid tofu lover, I knew I had to try it as soon as I heard about it. Most of the food was perfect, except for the rice course which I thought could do with some improvements (the flavour)... More

Ukai - is located right next to Tokyo Tower and is in the "back" of the historical shine. It doesn't seem like much on the outside, but once entering Ukai - you will soon see the beautiful, peaceful garden – full with traditional Japanese trees, flowers and interior. The restaurant is spitted up in different sizes private room – all... More

From the moment you enter the grounds of this restaurant you know you are in for a fine dining experience. Everything about it reflects the charm of an eloquent restaurant with food and service and ambiance at the highest level. It was a highlight of our Tokyo dining experience.

At the foot of Tokyo Tower is a 100-year-old reconstructed sake brewery nestled in a beautifully manicured garden. Tofuya Ukai, a restaurant that focuses on tofu, calls this place home. Everything about this places emanates the Japanese culture-- grace, nature, delicate foods. Our experience with the food and service were flawless from start to finish. We checked in with the... What a beautiful setting! As a previous rater noted, i take my visitors there for the experience more than the food. The food isn't bad, but in a city with so many michelen rated restaurants, the bar is high... but the service, the ambiance, the gardens, the beautiful glow of tokyo tower at night, all make it a wonderful place... In February we ate at Ukai Tofuya in Shiba and cannot say I was overly impressed with either their food or service. It seemed to be a purely tourist operation with the aim of turning over the numbers and as a result the quality of the meal suffered. They seem to have pretensions to kaiseki style dining & service but... More

The concept is Tofu Kaiseki. it is like a play, the waitress was like an actress, a state of the art restaurant in an excellent location. A unique place. The setting is incredible. they have 60 private rooms, and a showroom of a sake brewery. I will never forget this restaurant. We went for lunch after visiting Tokyo Tower that... More
