Its a Harvester! It does what it says on the tin but for me the service could be much better.. the staff are not that friendly, people left witing longer than needed to be seated and they just never seem to smile or chat to people.. It is what it is but it should be better

My previous experiences of eating at Harvesters has been mixed to say the least so when a friend suggested we go to The Oakmere I was a bit dubious. I cannot comment on eating there in the evening, but having been twice for lunch I would have no hesitation in going again. The staff were friendly and efficient and the... More

We arrived for a pre meal Drink and put our name down to be called when there was a free table. After 1 hour 40 minutes of waiting we noticed people just walking in and being seated without reservation. When we told someone they said sorry we forgot about you.when seated no waitress came over for 20 minutes until we again had... Four of us visited this restaurant yesterday and I totally agree with what GD said about the Christmas dinner. The prawn cocktail was sparse on prawns and sauce, but there was far too much lettuce, the pieces of which were far too large. The bread and butter was OK but not presented attractively. The Christmas dinner was a total disaster.... More

Just had what was supposed to be a Christmas dinner at this 'restaurant'. 3 of my party had other choices. We began with the salad bar, which was nice enough. Our starters, in my case prawn cocktail, was okay but didn't have enough sauce and the accompanying bread had slices of butter of 1 cm thickness laid on top! I... More

My husband and I went here today for lunch after spotting the Harvester sign on our way to the RVC to drop our kitten off for some tests. As we had to burn a few hours whilst she was there we decided to go back there for some lunch. The building is currently under renovations, I'm not sure what its... More

Visited on a Thurs night with friends around 8pm. Showed straight to a table and drinks order taken. Salad bar well stocked and clean. Food was tasty and served well. Only criticism would be that on a table for 5 we were against a wall so if one of us wanted extra salad etc. we all had to move. Enjoyable... More

We decided to eat here end of summer because it was next to the childrens play area in Oakmere Park and it also has it's own beer garden. On arriving I was told all the draught Lagers were off and there were only bottled beers available. When we said we would be eating in the garden we were informed we... More

Pretty much like the usual Harvester. Nice and reasonable especially as there is now cheaper options available throughout the evening too. Staff at Oakmere House restaurant are nice though.

The last time i ate here was a few years back and obviously saw no reason to return. However my friend and I went last night for a meal. It was great value and really tasty. I had seabass with green beans and chips - very nice and good value - desert was fruit skewers and again very nice! so... More
