Taverna Sirtaki is a nice place near the sea with a nice patio to sit on. Prices are low, the people are friendly and the food is good.
We tried this taverna on our first night as it was just around the corner and we wanted to have the fried small fishes. They were very nice indeed and a good sized portion (we shared one for starters). I then had soutzoukaki with chips which was very tasty and hubby enjoyed his chicken souvlaki. We were given a shot... More
Most of the food including some excellent dips for starters is home made and we met the lady who does most of the cooking. They are very flexible about sharing dishes, leaving pepprs out if they don't suit etc and when available get local fish, we saw a recently caught one making its way from the boat to the kitchen.... We ate the grilled small sardines & fried small fishes (whitebait to you & me) & they were delicious. Proper chips -... More

This place has been one of our regular places since 2002. There is always a todays special, and also lot of great meals on the regular menu. The service is great and personal, and the view is great.
Excellent atomospheric location in an elevated position close to the little fishing harbour.Dont be put off by the illustrated menu-the food here is freshly prepared and the hospitality is as authentically Cretan as one could hope for, with as much variety to suit the most demanding gourmet.I have visited Georgioupolis consistently over the last ten years and Taverna Sirtaki is one... As long-term visitors to Georgioupoli, this is a consistently good family-run taverna in a wonderful setting. We usually go the first night and often return with a large table of friends. Angela runs the taverna with her husband Georgios doing most of the cooking. We're allways made very welcome, great wine and raki, go for the daily specials - fresh... More
By far my fave place to eat in GP-one of the few places that has Sfakian pie (a starter) on the menu and the food is always good. Also the cheapo house wine is very drinkable, which isnt always the case!
