We went here during the winter; plan on a glass of wine and good conversation with friends before dinner, and go early to beat the crowd. The bread was warm and fresh, with delicate lemon dill butter. We had several of the soups and they were creamy and full of flavor. The salads had a very delicate dressing so you... More

Upon arriving with a large group, our table was ready (we had reservations) but we were not seated for another 30 minutes. Not sure why since table was set up in advance. It took another 20 minutes before we could order a drink and probably an additional 20 minutes after that until we could order dinner. All of this was... More

Soup was good, very flavorful and creative, but the rest of the food was just ok. The service was terrible, and we had to wait a very long time for our food. This is not fine dining, and I thought that the parsley garnish sprinkled on everything was a bit tacky. Seems like a lot of locals eat here, which... More

We stopped in to 229 Parks without a reservation since we were on our way up from Anchorage to Healy and didn't know exactly what our timing would be. We were seated at the bar which was nearly full. Service wasn't bad but it wasn't all that attentive. Table seating may be a different experience. The food though made up... More

The food and ambience of the place blew us away. What a wonderful staff as well! The quantity of food was huge. They apaprently have new items on the menu daily. We reached there early for dinner - around 5.30 PM, as we were still on east coast time. The place filled up fast so I recommend a reservation. Make... More

We did make reservatins at this restaurant after hearing how good it was. It is a small restaurant located off the road in a woodland setting. Service is wonderful. Our server was very knowledgable and attentive without appearing to hover. He recommended some great wine choices. The food was all delicious and the desserts were out of this world. It was... More

Excellent local and homemade food. Had the rutabega soup and spot shrimp pasta.Absolutely to die for. So delicious, I returned the next evening for the exact two items. Great beer and wines election, too. I wish this was in Fairbanks!

Drove from Fairbanks to try it, was not disappointed. Amazingly great food. Who ever though Rutabaga soup could taste this way. Creamy flavorful, perfect. Six of us spent the evening having a wonderful, fantastic dinner. Nothing but great. Flat breads were thin, crisp, delicious. Main course, sirloin charred and tender, salmon, halibut, crab pasta all fantastic. Then on to dessert.... More

We had read the reviews before going to this area, and picked 229 Parks before we ever left the lower 48. When we arrived at the restaurant, I knew it would be a good experience. The inside was cozy, and the smells permeating the air were enchanting. Wonderful food. Our waiter was great as well. The service was a little... More

We arrived on a Sunday evening with no reservation, we were seated right away at a very nice table by the window,. Reservations are however recommended. Our host at the Aspen Haus B&B in Healy recommended this establishment to us and we are very glad he did. The food was excellent and our servers John and Pete were equally great.... More
