I have been going to this restaurant once a year or so for the last ten years. For us it's a venue for a special celebration. THe whole evening is lovely, we were there recently and had a nice drink in the drawing room while we decided what to eat. I had a mozzarella and tomato salad, a green salad,... More

We feel terrible for not posting this sooner because we actually visited back in March, 2011...but better late than never, right? We were 3 couples...siblings and spouses...staying in Adare, and we had come for dinner. The lovely owner sat down with us after our fabulous meal and helped us plan an itinerary for the next few days, then gave us... More

Dinner @ the mustard seed is a special experience, we indulged in all 4 courses and one better than the other. The freshness of the produce is just delightful and each visit to the mustard seed reminds us what great food really is. Can't wait to return! Ideal for limerick people like ourselves in search of a 24 hr escape... More

We were part of a small family wedding group and the the warm, friendly atmosphere was amazing. The decor is really lovely and in keeping with the house, we could have stayed there forever. The food was excellent and the staff knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. I have not laughed or enjoyed myself as much in a long time. More

Part of a celebration dinner here 23rd July. This rather eccentric feeling hotel and restaurant is a real find. The food was clearly prepared by talented people. I don't think I've experienced such a high quality restaurant being run by so few but exceptionally efficient, happy people. The food is simple, but delicious - the way it should be. Clearly... More

I made a last minute decision to stay at the Mustard Seed and it lived up to expectation. A warm welcome when I arrived at 10pm after a long day. I had a delicious meal with much of the ingredients from their vegetable garden. Had a lovely bedroom and a great night's sleep. Definitely worth a visit More

Last weekend, we had a steaming bowl of homemade soup, salad and sandwiches. The food was simple, fresh, their signature brown bread - special is an understatement! The lads in the kitchen were brewing their own jam too, blackcurrant and lavender. It was way past breakfast, even lunch, but I'm glad I gave in and licked jam and had more... More

Visited the Mustard Seed as part of the Love Gourmet Week for dinner with three companions. No complaints all round. Its a shame that 'ordinary' prices cannot be reduced somewhat in fine establishments like this in these difficult times. The 63 euros pp for the 'regular' fare is surely bit of a throw-back to the 'Celtic Tiger Years'. Though I'm... More

Another wonderful meal in the Mustard Seed. This place has been consistently good for years and most recent visit didn't disappoint. Food, wine and service was great. It is one of the few restaurants that hasn't adjusted its pricing in line with the economy but fortunately the culinary standards haven't changed either. More
