Found this place at the end of holiday and only went for a coffee and cake mid morning - but everything was really good, the service etc and setting. Will definitely visit again
A good selection of home cooked food is on display, the friendly and helpful staff let you know what the dishes are. The prices are very reasonable and its popular with the locals. There is no alcohol, but they are one of the few places in Selimiye to have a generator and that's how I found them on a stormy... More
What a great little Turkish place to eat.As said before, no menu just a display of cooked food in pots to choose from. Not particularly hot, but delicious and full of flavour.Dont expect to have any alcohol here.Extremely busy with locals, so obviously worth visiting.2 of us full and only £10 in total and with water. Recommend dinner or lunch.
Easy helpful staff, fab food great prices. Note only soft drinks. Set in the main walk to the sea, open afternoons and evenings. The owners take pride in their dishes at very good prices
A real gem in a side street in Selimiye where most restaurants on the waterfront are catering for the more upmarket boat set. The cafe is full of locals and Turkish holidaymakers which is a good sign. There isn't a menu and the waiter who is the owners son and speaks excellent English shows you what is cooking in all... All the food here is prepared and ready to be chosen from the counter. The English speaking owner explains what he has and once you have chosen, it arrives quickly at your table. The lentil soup is fabulous but all dishes, mainly of lamb or beef are tasty and in just the right proportions for a light lunch or evening... More
We ate here twice during our week in Selimiye (May 2013) and the food was perfect. The only down side is that they don't have wine/beer. We had Lentil Soup and meatball stew made with tiny meatballs. Plenty of locals eat here too. Good value and really wholesome food. I heartily recommend.
Went twice on a 10 night stay, food home cooked food excellent friendly service and very good value, nothing bad to say about it. (soft drinks only)
I met Serjan (I think that how it is spelt) after having walked around Selimiye out of season time, and his was the only place open for food at night, filled with locals..........which is always a good sign. He was very friendly, offered excellent service at superb prices. The food was home cooked with generous portions. I will certainly go... More
We stopped by this cafe because we were a bit lost & needed help using a Turkish pay phone. The owner, Serj, went out of his way to help us (& his English is excellent - he went to school in the US). The herbal tea is good too!
