We went to La Pena Andaluza in April on our first night in Puerto Vallarta and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the owner and staff. It was empty for a Saturday night but the owner and one of the servers still provided us with a private Flamenco show. We ordered a number of different tapas for the... More

La Pena Andaluza is my favorite place in PV. The food is excellent; it is very reasonable; and the entertainment one night we were there was utterly fantastic. I like a variety of food, and in our two visits I must have tried practically every item on the menu. Without exception they were great. If you are lucky enough to... More

We went to this restaurant with a friend. He is weary of trying new places, unlike my wife and I who love to explore new restaurants. We selected this place based upon reviews read here. When we arrived we had the whole place to ourselves. My wife had frenched rack of lamb, Our friend had chicken breast, I had pork... More

My wife and I read the reviews and went for lunch on Sunday afternoon. OMG! What a memorable experience. We sat on the balcony overlooking the Rio Cuale, with the colorful vendors below and blue skies above. Pure heaven! Our waiter (who is also a musician), Diego, greeted us like old friends. We ordered iced tea that was freshly brewed... More

I had better expectations about this restaurant based on Tripadvisor reviews. We made sure we tried it before we left simply based on the reviews. We went on a Wednesday evening and the place was empty. We took a table at the balcony -- however, it wasn't a great view -- just the black river, the rooftops of the flea... More

What a sweet space, steps away from the Malecon and next to the Rio Cuale. Had expected the place to be crammed with tables but it was such an awesome feel to walk thru the door and find the space so freed-up and open. Just to relax and dine here is peaceful considering the busy street behind. A large open... More

Whoever wrote all the 5 star reviews for this place must have grown up eating road kill. 5th best place in PV? They have to be kidding! I've been spending 2 or so months a year in PV for 8 years. This was one of my worst expiriences. The service was friendly but Sloooooow! The food was mostly tasteless, food... More

We were not greeted when we entered the restaurant. That should have been our first clue. The two waiters and one waitress paid no attention to the food that was put up in the window for service as they were playing with an infant who the waitress had brought to work. Our food arrived to our table cold and the... More

We have been coming to Puerto Vallarta for years but this was the first time we have tried La Pena Andaluza. It was a fabulous discovery! While waiting for our order, they served us the Spanish omelet. It was tasty. The tapas offered in two sizes, were delicious and affordable. We went three times, tried a variety of tapas and ordered... More

Everything about this restaurant is fabulous. The owner is extremely welcoming, especially to families. He provided us with lots of samples to taste and I think we ultimately ended up ordering most of the menu, all for under 1200 pesos! The view overlooking the river is relaxing and pleasant and the food is incredible. Definitely a highlight on our trip.
