One of the things that I look for at a restaurant is who else is eating there. At Colibri, there was a table of three mature ladies having a meal, a table of two mature men and a table wth a university student. The host greeted each with a smile. There are approx 6 tables in the place. We had... More

Close to the plaza of El Baratillo there is this little restaurant called Colibrí. It is a very small place, with 4 or 5 tables and they serve a different meal each day. This doesn't mean that they don't have a menu, which includes hamburgers, baguettes, etc. But the good stuff is the menu they prepare for the day. Each... More

What an excellent place to dine! A perfect size for it's location right off of a little plaza. We only ate breakfast there, but it was a delicious affair and my parents were begging me to take them back for our remaining 2 days in Guanajuato (it was unfortunately closed for Navidad). Nice music/ambiance and brightly colored art on the... More

One of the best places in Guanajuato. Friendly, fresh food, a different menu to elsewhere, outstanding value, very clean and great attention to detail. The owner, Señor Edgar, decorated the place very nicely and his level of demand shows in every aspect. I live in Gto and i go to Colibri very often. The menu del dia is incredible value.... More

Colibri is a simple family-run restaurant with tasty food. We had the set lunch (varies daily) of soup, salad, main dish, dessert, and lemonade. All were prepared and presented with care. The people who work there are very friendly.

The best salad of all during my six weeks in GTO. Beautiful presentation, and delicious. We were students at the university and ate here at least once a week. Love the artwork and new touches with café, and menu.

I love this place, and I eat here about once a week. Delicious soups, salads, baguettes, burgers (regular and vegetarian), fish, chicken, and empanadas. All of the beautiful art in the restaurant was made by the owner, Edgar. And his two sons, Alfredo and Adrian always give excellent service with a smile. Try the Colibri Salad -- it's the best... Not as good value for money as it used to be, good ample salad included in the set meal.

This wonderful mom and pop's little restaurant has the cozy feel of Mexico and a service that makes you feel like you are visiting family. Their delicious breakfast is full of the little touches that keep you coming back. The restaurant is decorated by the beautiful and colorful works of art made by the owner and your friendly waiter Edgar.... More

This is a new restaurant just off Baratillo square, on your left as you face the fountain with your back to Cantarranas. It was recommended to me by a local who knows the owner. It is small, delightfully decorated with the owner's own artwork and is scrupulously clean. The salads are easily enough for two and filled with good lettuces... More
