Went here for New years eve and had one of the worst meals I have ever had the displeasure of paying for. The cold but sweet walnut soup was a lowlight, it will take some time to forget. I think it was only slightly out done by the manager's atrocious attitude by far one of the most pompous and pretentious... More

We spent Thanksgiving week in Guanajuato and after scouting restaurants (and trying many) selected La Capellina for our afternoon T-Day treat. And it was just that - my wife had a very flavorful salmon filet and I had the local specialty, enchildas mineras. Both were artfully plated and were delicious. Service was good, and we enjoyed the outdoor, street seating..

I was really disappointed. This place has a great location - just a few steps from Teatro Juarez - and wonderful decor that screams upscale. But the food was disappointing. I asked for their more popular starters - the grilled portabello mushroom on polenta, and the shrimp tacos in chipotle sauce - and their most popular mains - the filet... More

I went to this restaurant last weekend on Dec 25th, 2012. It was an excellent option with fresh food and nice service.

We ate here twice once inside and once outside. Great salads! Arrachera steak was excellent. Great presentations, the dish with the mariscos is a sight to behold and delicious.

We had an issue with the tip. We were a group of 8 people, the waiter wanted more than 10%, and he stopped us to discuss the matter.

Food has absolutely NO TASTE! Would have rather eaten paper. Cook told us "everyone has different tastes". What? There was NO taste in the food. Avoid. Would rate as zero if that option was available.

After reading some nice comments here, we've decided to go to "La Capelina", during our great stay in Guanajuato. What a disaster! The place is beautiful, even if it's too formal. But that's all! First of all, it smelt disinfectant at the table. We've ordered a fettuccine with duck and some filet de res with vegetables. After a very long... More

The Capellina is in the heart of Guanajuato, a stone's throw from the jardin. We ordered pizza and salad and the food was good but not great. The service was a little slow and the prices were high.

More
