Biko was a very nice experience all around. The restaurant is simple, modern, and sober.. nothing over the top. Service is excellent, as you would expect at such a restaurant. We ordered 4 appetizers (we were a group of 4) and then each person ordered an entree. I got the "naturaleza del atun". Highly recommended. Seared tuna with a mushroom... More

Don't waste your time and money. My husband and I were there last summer in August and it's the worst restaurants I've ever been in my life. Food is average (we hade the menu degustacion). And service is TERRIBLE!!!!!!. We waited at least 10 minutes to have our order taken, and waited and waited between courses.... At the end, I... More

We ordered a full menu. Everything was exquisite, creative and simply delicious! In my opinion it is the best restaurants of Mexico City.

Mikel Alonso Spanish/Basque restaurant is a must when visiting Mexico City. This elegant restaurant delivers a flavor punch, I highly recommend getting the 8-course tasting menu with wine pairing. The dishes are beautifully prepared my a masterful team that you can watch from the main dinning room. The servers were excellent, very attentive and kind. Truly a highpoint to our... More

These days chefs are seen as rock stars so they have all the fame and fortune but also they have high standards to fullfill or else they are easily repalced by another rising star. Mikel Alonso, the head chef of BIKO certanly delivers! You came here expecting something and you leave with that feeling that you have just received what... More

I had the 8-course meal with the wine pairing, which I think came out to about $130. I easily would have paid $300-400 for that here in the US. The food was exquisite- modern Spanish/Basque, inventive. The wine pairings were a lesson in themselves. Also primarily Spanish, some other rare wines were included. Pours were generous so you don't need... More

Great interior, 'high' fusion/molecular cuisine — we couldn't even guess sometimes what did we eat, nice serving.

This is a Basque-Mexican restaurant with authentic dishes. The Spanish influence is excellent if that is what you are after as are the Mexican dishes. The staff is very helpful and the menu is quite extensive. The restaurant itself is very attractive and the offering is a nice change from the other "upscale" restaurants in Mexico City. Our food was... More

My husband, myself, and 2 sons (ages 20 and 23) splurged on this restaurant over Christmas vacation. All 4 of us ordered the seven+ course chef's tasting menu and the accompanying wines. I was a little hesitant to go; my son, a fan of Alinea, picked it. I thought it might be pure molecular gastronomy...which I do not always like.... More

Biko is listed on San Pelligrino's "World's 50 Best Restaurants" list. When we visited (2012) it was ranked #38 on the list. In order to have the full experience, we decided to order the degustation menu. The Food at Biko is Mexican-Basque fusion. That said, it's really no surprise that we found the menu to be artistic and well executed.... More
