I went in this place first in January 2013 for a lunch and for a dinner. I said, we have to come back and stay here. We did it last May 2013, and what a great experience.

We had brunch at La Casona de la China Poblana. The food was really delicious. I had the best omelet I've ever had in my life as my choice. Their breads are fresh and tasty. The juices are freshly squeezed. They have a wonderful menu for comida and cena as well. Top of my list for places to eat in... More

We had a totally enjoyable lunch here. The food was excellent. The ambiance delightful. The service almost too good. This was probably our best meal in Puebla, and considering the competition that is going some. It was a great place to have a relaxing afternoon meal and rest between sightseeing.

The food was excellent. We had a mole sampler for one dish and the other person had the chicken with india mole which was a cashew mole. This was the hit of all the moles we tried in Puebla. We also had the guacamole appetizer which was delicious, very creamy with nice flavorings. The waiter came over and took our... More

This is the real thing! Mole Poblano in all its glory. Good service. Authentic ambiance. Leave room for at least one of their fabulous desserts.

Great restaurant attached to what looks like a charming boutique hotel. Most days they have a buffet breakfast for 120 pesos (about $10 US) which is remarkably tasty and extensive. Besides made to order omelettes they had about ten different hot dishes - all Mexican and very good. That and fresh juice, delightful fresh fruit and coffee. Just a great... More

My husband and I went there this weekend after shopping in the artisan market near by. It is only a few blocks away from the shopping streets. The location is safe and we walked to our car (parked only a few blocks away) without the feeling of beeping stranded or scared. The food was not bad. I had the cashew... More

During our recent visit to Puebla, our last meal there was at La China...and we saved the best for last. Beautiful restaurant in a covered courtyard of an old colonial building. Great service from reception, to the maitre d' to the servers. A homemade salsa was prepared at our table in a molcajete (mortar bowl made of volcanic rock), with... More

The City of Puebla claims to be the birthplace of this entree. Stories have it that this dish was invented by Catholic Nuns in celebration of Mexico's Independence from Spain. The Poblano Chile is stuffed with a mixture of fruits and meat (most often pork) and covered with a walnut white sauce sprinkled with cilantro and pomegranate seeds. From a... More
