This is by far one of Edmonton's top restaurants. I will say that my most recent trip here left me a touch disappointed with the menu changes. Having had everything on the old menu I noticed right away the menu no longer contained a vegetarian favorite of mine the stuffed portebello mushroom. What I did end up getting was tasty... More

I met a friend at the Highlands Kitchen for brunch on a Saturday morning. The food and service were very good. The menu is creative and varied. We had a hard time choosing. The homemade biscuit that came with my platter was divine. The portions are generous and delicious. The coffee was just right as well. We arrived early and... More

We love the food at Culina (both locations but we prefer Highlands). The menu has a Polish/Ukrainian influence. They say "fresh and unique prairie flavours" on their website and I'd say that's accurate. They have a focus on fresh and local food so they can tell you which farms their meat and produce are from. Good value for food of... More

The former Culina Highlands is now Highlands kitchen, featuring a fantastic menu of ethnic-inspired comfort food. Great destination/date restaurant! New website is http://highlandskitchen.ca/

This place is now called Highlands Kitchen. My husband and I went there with another couple on a Friday night before a hockey. Although they were fully booked, they kindly were able to fit us on for a quick bite. Its such a lovely quant little place. Service was pretty good. I ordered the romaine salad to begin which was... This restaurant is now called Highlands Kitchen, but is operated by the same team that oversaw it as Culina Highlands. It features an inventive menu that could best be described as Ukrainian fusion, with all the ingredients obtained from local vendors, so freshness is assured. My personal favourite is the bison short ribs, which are smothered in a deliciously rich... More

Quite simply, the Mill Creek location was a far better experience. I found the items on the Highlands menu odd. Perogies and sausage? Hmmmm. And the service was below average. I will likely not go back.

I consider it a bonus to have a high-quality restaurant close to home - short drive in the winter, pleasant walk in warmer weather should you choose to do so. Culina Highlands is not easy to classify - I suppose one might describe it as "Ukrainian Fusion" given that they serve a mean bowl of borscht and an ample serving... More

Not cheap, but soooo worth it. Lamb kofta was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, with a lively sauce. Steak with bleu/mushroom sauce perfectly done. Chocolate paté is, of course, sinfully sensuous. The place is charming, friendly and unpretentious; service is impeccable.
