Not the first time and certainly not the last. Dinner with friends from the UK did not disappoint. A must try, great wine pairings.
Decided to abandon the fast food and splash the cash on some 'proper' food. If you're after a taste of Canadian regional fare, you can't go wrong with this place: sure, it's more pricey, but compared to London it's excellent value. The (?) maitre d' explained each dish in great detail, was extremely professional and attentive and I was looked... More
Went with another couple. The menu changes based on the fresh food available. Every dish was a delicate balance of exceptional flavours. From the appetizers (we shared all of them), through the main course dishes and the deserts (we had two puddings, but there was little sharing) the food was a culinary experience. The food was great and our server... More
It was my pleasure to be back at Dolmus to enjoy a beautiful meal. The soup today was a carrot ginger that was smooth and creamy with just enough bite to be interesting. For my main, the scallops - oh, what a treat. And for dessert, the lemon tart...Devine. Great service and ambiance put this restaurant tops in my book.
Had been referred by a friend. He was right, this place does it great. Had a special of Lamb confit. It was awesome. Menu is imaginative, the location is excellent and it's easy to see why you need a reservation. These are given in 15 minute intervals. That way, the service is prompt and effective. Good wine list and nice... More
Went to Domus Cafe with a group of 12 and all of us enjoyed our meals. The menu is small and I think that we had all of the main courses. All were excellent. For appetizers the soup and tomato salad were particularly outstanding. A little bit pricey but high quality food
Consistently good; great food, a nice wine list and excellent service. We had not been there in some time and were pleased to find out that it hasn`t changed. The décor needs a little update but it`s OK as it is.
After a fabulous meal, that was the question we asked ourselves. My husband started with the market soup - pureed egplant and tomato with a spicy cumin edge. I had the best tomato salad ever - beautiful red, room temperature beauties served with tons of fresh basil and a delightfully salty olive tapenade - oh and some crumbled goat cheese... More
Having dined several times at Domus Cafe, over past few years, I have found meals to be consistently excellent. One of the servers, in particular, seems to be a foodie, as his descriptions of dishes are perfect as are his recommendations. If you are lucky enough to have this young man as your server, listen to his advice as he... More
I was in Domus for lunch a couple of days ago with a friend. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Ottawa. I like tablecloths and linen napkins and kudos to John Taylor's Domus Cafe for still using this inviting touch of elegance. So many restaurants have done away with linens in favor of paper! In the evening there... More
